Default Exhaust Cooling

Switched from Gil manifolds to Lightning headers on 2000 HP 500's with 4 hose exhaust manifold cooling, can only use 2 hoses now for the headers, Can i remove and block off the t-fitting with check balls and just use the 2 hoses from the cap or will this cause a flow or pressure problem ?

A pic is worth a thousand words. This is what I did and it worked out great. Say goodbye to the thermostat though.

Most peep’s typically use a Y connector. Most performance exh manufacturing companies sold these for install.

Thanks SB, I am using a y connector now, just looking for a "cleaner" set up and wondering if 2 of the 4 ports can be eliminated, I want to stay with the factory "warm cooling" set up

You can get the 4 hose tstat housing then. It has just 2 outs.It is found on 454/502mpi engines and some others.

Looks like this.
