Default Whipple Intercooler comparision

I presently have a 3.3L Whipple with their intercooler. I know they have a larger intercooler, but I'm not sure if it will really help me much. It's sitting on top of a new 540 with new AL heads, and solid lifters. Last year we had a 502 with similar setup that made 760HP. I'm looking to make 900Hp now on 93 octane. 1000HP on 110.

Has anyone done a head to head comparison of the two intercoolers? If I knew the difference in boost PSI between the two intercooler with similar setups I could decide. Dustin said I need the larger one, but can't provide any solid proof. If I knew it lowered the boost X number of pounds it might be worth it.

Bigger is always better. It may not help much in the HP range but it will give you a bigger safety buffer before detonation sets in.

Sorry could not be any more help that that.

If you can measure your air temperature in the manifold after the intercooler and the temperature is above 140 degrees during hard acceleration you should get a bigger intercooler.
