Well the fun begins.
Tunning the engines in the boat. We ran her Thursday. First season run! Jetting is way off. Way to fat! The Primary Power valves are open all the time. This is due to the PSI making boost as soon as you open the throttle. The P/V is boost referenced. Jetting is 86 primary with PV. Secondaries 96 with PV plugged. 1-1 linkage The carbs are side saddle. When standing behind the boat on the trailer the exhaust pipe on the side of the engine which has the Pv,s (primarys) are wicked black. Plugs reveal the PSI is favoring the rear cylinders big time. makes sense if ya notice the discharge of the blowers. (Pie Shape) May have to stagger jets leaning rears and riching fronts. One engine went to 240 on the water temp:eek: Forgot the IR gun at the shop. I felt the head it was Hot to the touch. Had 24lbs water pressure on that engine. I shut it down then it cooled right down and took it easy back to the dock. I will pull the water pump make sure the impellers didnt throw a blade. I am not sold on dedicating one stage for the intercooler. I will feed both stages of the waterpump back to the engine. I will put the feed for the intercooler back on the Sea strainer. This worked last season. Why didnt ya just leave things alone? This was the ? all my friends ask. I replied. if I bought a brand new boat the first thing I would do is tear it down to make it faster!:drink: |

With the one to one linkage do u think are better off without the powervlaves? 86 primary and 96 secondary sounds like is about right. Is that a 1090? |

Yes I plugged the PV considering it makes boost the second ya open the throttle. Took the alchol needle and seats out they were dripping a little. Running the .130 vitons now. Ran it again still way to fat. I think blower speed is a little slow also. I am back to progressive linkage and jetting is 92 94 94 96 secondarys no p/v 86 88 88 90 primarys no p/v Timing 32 locked. I went back to running both stages of the pump to the engine and force feeding intercooler off the Sea strainer. Will make another run maybe Wednesday. |
