I agree dreamboater a 28 is faster on a lake or calm water but as soon as it gets just a 1ft to 2ft the spectre or 30 motion will eat it up. The 28's from some reason just love flat water.

Dont know how much truth there is to this, but I heard someone quote on this forum that a 28 Skater has never lost a race to a 30 Spectre or 30 Motion, that seems hard to believe if it is true, but very impressive. 1 - 2 feet should not be a problem either.

Not to offend anyone, I actually was going to buy a 1/4 canopy 30 motion with 2.5's before I purchased my 28, the only reason that did not happen was because it sold 1 week prior to me going to test drive it. A good friend of mine owns a 30 spectre with 300x's, and it is an awesome boat. It just seems the only boat to compete with a 28 Skater with all out performance would be a 32 DW, that boat is just sick

Dream Boater ....you were misinformed. Havoline, Stalker, Conch Attack, Outcast, Power Broker, Rumor Has It.... were all Motions and Spectre that won alot of races against 28s I love the 28 Skater but it's been beat plenty and in anything over 2 ft you have to have big ones to keep up. I have raced all of them they all have pros and cons. I've raced 28 Skater, 30 Spectre, 30 AMT, 30 Motion , 32 Doug Wright , and 32 Skater. So far the DW is superior.

Thanks for the clarification. It did sound pretty ridiculous. In your opinion, which boat handles better in rough water 32 Skater or 32 DW.

I've never been in a 32B but in race conditions the 32 DW has proven to be tough to beat. We'll see how the new 30 and 32 SKATER race boats run this year.

Sorry for all the questions... on Skater's website they have a 36 with triple 2.5's, I would think that boat would be very competitive in the SS class. The listing claims 120mph and they are asking 129k. Why have no one jumped on that one yet?
