I'm having the electrical system wired professionally. Hence the road trip

Thanks TPro, I cant believe it has been four years since I pulled it back from Oklahoma. The project has been a great experience. I always wanted a Skater. My wife asked me one time, if we hit the lottery, what boat would I want. Well we didnt hit the lottery but I still managed to find my dream boat.

Ryan Beckley 10-05-2012 09:49 AM

Who better!! Well Played!

Jolley 10-05-2012 10:22 AM

Zero Patience 10-05-2012 07:46 PM

black thunder 46 10-05-2012 11:32 PM

Very cool project! Have you ran it yet? What props are you using for it???
Brett

davidmercury 10-06-2012 09:32 AM

Thanks, no I have not run it yet. I'm starting out with the 15X32 3blade merc cleavers, but pretty sure I'll be turning 15X34s by completion of dial in.

Hey Dave, what do you imagine slip % is going to be? Love the boat.

davidmercury 10-07-2012 08:01 PM

NP that is a good question, Having 4 gearcases in the water will have an effect on slip. anyone out there with a quad 32 have any ideas on what to expect?

Wrong size but I've got 4 four blade 32"x 14.5 Merc cleavers with fat shaft hub kits. 2RH 2LH.

I asked Skater to come up with a solution to my trim switch dilema. I had no room on my dash and with 4 engines, I didnt like the idea of having all of them wired to the throttles. I like what they came up with pictured here (not completely wired yet)

Lake rat Skater 11-09-2012 08:31 PM

Looks great, what all are you having Skater do at the factory for you if you don't mind me asking.

KEVLARKAT32 11-10-2012 05:59 AM

Is that the only trin switch ? Why not have one throttle switch with diodes and use those four to make a + or - bump to even out .

KK, I wont be using the trim that much. With my past experience, most outboard cats seem to run the best when trim is set level with running surface. I just wanted it close to steering wheel in case i need to bump it a bit.

Im having Skater wire dash and bilge, finish off fuel system requirements and connections and basically have it ready for me to run. :ernaehrung004:

Very nice !

Turbojack 11-12-2012 08:32 PM

I started reading this thread last night and just finished it. This is an amazing project. Are you keeping up with your costs or are you throwing the recites in a box?
