Frost on ground this morning at 37* in Columbia. A high of 62* and sunny today with 5mph wind peak. Not much excitement to run a cat in but fast in the cool air. Tomorrow 62* again and "16 mph winds"!!!!!! Almost as good as sex! 75 to 90 mph in 3' lake sloop is as much fun as "myself" and my hull can handle.

600 and how many pounds are they??? any way to chop off bout 100#'s of crap to make them light??? |
I'm hearing closer to 700# than 600 but again second hand sources
|
They were still on their backs in the crates ..soon to be mounted for Miami ..they look Bad Arse ..can't wait to see how they perform.
|
They were sitting next to a pair of 1100's
|
Skate is right. Just under 700lbs. Like 690lbs. That is a bunch for a small cat. My x motors are 465 or so. They way I see it is an additional 440lbs eats up 50 hp or so in just weight. I am sure they will accelerate well but question the longevity of the lower unit. Hope they reworked that too.
|
The lowers looked Dayum Nice
|
The new power appears to be targeted towards the big CC's which are basically dominating the market.
It will be interesing to see who will put the $$$$ down to experiment and Verado power on a cat and what the results will be...... |

Here is one more thought I wonder if Peter thought about. How about bringing back an entry level 24' Skater Single engine 400hp Verado. Lighter than twins, Would easily run a 100mph, A lot less money than rigging twins.
This would allow some to get back into HP Boating. I bet he would sell some. |
do you think there is a market for that ?
|
Ron i agree that it will sell but i recall Peter saying several yrs ago that now days there was almost no profit on the 24 & 28's. Especially on the 24.

DR, I think you are right on the money there! I'd love the simplicity of a single engine! :ernaehrung004:

Yes nice boat, but lacks 2015 gadgets.
|
Hey Tom,
You ran a great number at LOTO this year and I was wondering what engine package you had before the X motors and what gains you have seen? |
Pm sent

.
let's piece the images together like a puzzle :) http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...0at20051PM.png |
.
The mids look different than the Verado 350 SCi! Maybe they ARE delivering to us a 4 cyl supercharged/turbocharged engine :) http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...nv128256_0.jpg |
.
The mids look a lot closer to these pics: Photo Credit: Samari S&F http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...pswwme0rxo.jpg http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...psf7midyfx.jpg |
They look like a 300x mid if that is what the picture is.
Would be really cool and funny if Mercury through us all a curve and leaked out a bs lead to not let the cat out of the bag. |
^^^^^^^ that is exactly what i was thinking

.
I think it'll be a 4 stroke outboard because of EPA constraints and the short film shows a camshaft with 12 lobes. thus it's proly gonna be a straight 6 4stroke power plant http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...1at33945PM.png |
I agree, Noli, one shot shows 6 crankcase crankshaft cap locations and one for a timing chain.
