Nastybug, don't loose faith! You have an awesome ride that will get done. The 400R's are just backed up. I was told 13 weeks when I ordered mine and you are way ahead of me. When you do get them it will be worth it I am sure. Definitely take advantage of Mercury dialing in the boat. It will save you a ton of your own time. I would assume that would be done at X-site in Florida where they have a ton of resources available.

Its crazy how companies like DCB and TUFF have got there hands on the 400s already but Skater is still waiting. I think skater boats have sold a lot of mercury products over the years and I figured mercury would put them high on the priority list.

Actually, Skater has ran very little merc stuff in the IO department. Historically they have ran mostly Sterling power, I thing in the last couple yrs clients have gone more to the Merc stuff.

D@mn that's real discouraging news IMO...well I'm not privy to the bottom line at mercury or do I know anyone well enough to "KNOW" sh!t about what's really going on but can not believe this it dragging out like this for you...and the rest of us who may be interested in the 400r's at some point, unless of course they are actually taking this lighting up of the motors seriously and doing a lot to make them work on our cats...dream on right!?!?> LOL.
sorry for the waiting Nasty but I'm srue you'll be happy when it IS done!

Ha that is funny, Ill definitely take two. My motors were ordered at the Miami Boatshow. I really don't have a problem with the so called back up but they should be kind enough to give some kind of time frames. I keep seeing motors go on boats in triple, quads, and twins and I can't even get any info.

Well Boys, Seems like the whole process is dead in the water. There are some good pics of the boat cleared in the Serious Offshore site. I didnt get many good cleared photos to post. The ball is in Mercurys court now for motors. Absolutely no word on when to expect them. working on steering system specifically for my needs. No rigging done yet as Im sure the guys at Skater have more pressing work to get done than working on a boat just to let it sit and wait around for motors. I personally wouldn't expect any performance numbers from me this season as i have a pretty good feeling I won't see my rig til fall and It'll go straight into storage. Blah. Mercury is backed up and Im most likely a last concern. Im feeling that if it doesn't get done til September It will definitely not be going to Mercury for final dial in if its totally up to me. Ill get it home and let it sit till next season until I figure out how to dial it in my self. Im losing faith quickly. Come on Mercury please help me.
Well it stinks trust me I know but your patience will be rewarded with a spectacular new Skater. When I visited with Pete it sounded like Mercury was making a rear tie bar attachment specifically for your application. This would be one explanation for the delay.

Steve- on one hand I'm very disappointed for you. The wait has got to be making you pull your hair out.
On the other hand- I too think it would be well worth it to have Merc dial it in/test it. It will save you time, and I'd think some $$.
I figure it's like a catch 22, you have waited long enough... BUT- you have waited this long, might as well get it done right and stick with it till the end. Makes no sense to rush it at the end.
Just my 2 cents of course.
You could always move to AZ or CA, where the boating season is 10 months a year. Lol

Thanx for the Pep talk guys. Im just letting off steam. I know Mercury is the best game in town and I should feel fortunate that Merc wants to tune it in. I have no choice but to wait. Id just like to know a tiny bit of info on the time table. Right now if the motors came tomorrow I still wouldn't get delivery until very end of july maybe. Being I have no word yet Ill probably be lucky to get the boat by end of August at this point. There are also many eyes watching and waiting on info to decide wether they will make an order that involves these motors. Merc has to have the ability to complete the steering system for my rig in shorter order than this. Its just discouraging and I feel like Im being played with.

I'm with ya Nasty on the timeframe. If at least they could give you a ballpark it would make it a bit easier. My lack of patience probably would have had me driving there. I know words don't make it easier. Can't wait to see this beast.
