Its only a few more short months I hope. Ha. It actually worked out well that I didn't get it in September. It got a real good shakedown cruise while at Mercury Racing. We discovered some issues that would have been a total disappointment to me if I took it and rushed the process. They were not issues with the boat itself rather the components going in it. Some could have been a long term battle thru the whole ownership of the boat. Im actually very glad it worked out the way it did. It would have sucked taking delivery on my dream boat then having the rug pulled out from underneath me with a few annoying/disappointing problems. When I get it now itll be as perfect as it can get. Skater now has the time to fix everything it needs to. Im sure they would rather have it delivered to me the way it will be now. One thing that is great about Pete and everybody who works at Skater is their word is gold and they are all perfectionists. When they say they'll do something they do it. I understand it is not even close to that in some of the industry. Some I have read about personally. So glad i went to them. Although for me there was never another option being considered.

Here are some pics of What Skater was finishing up. They put covers over the gauge are on the driver and passenger side. I think it looks great. Didn't know they were doing that. Was a very pleasant surprise. Mike at Skater devised a ladder system that can be attached to the transom and extended down. It can be collapsed down and removed and stored in the rear storage /engine compartment when not needed. Thats awesome. also fixed the bunks on the trailer so the boat now fits on it like a glove. Tyco built a beautiful trailer just needed fine tuning. Thanx again Skater. looks awesome, why not move the tie down loops inboard a bit on the trailer so they don't rub the bunks?

If I had that waiting for me, I would be camped out in the Helm seat making engine noises until Skater was ready to turn it over... including the haul down to Miami boat show!!

Impeccable build - my utmost compliments again for your patience and taste in putting this boat together!

looking at boats in pics normally doesn't do them justice...if this one looks better in person I just might black out when I see it!

Love the black on the dash...that's going to take that glare off for sure! how's the visibility with the rap around?

The Pics don't even come close to the final product in person. One nice thing about the boat is that it has the 388 cockpit. Its absolutely huge. The boat is massive with the 10 extra inches in. When I saw it for the first time I just stood there with a big stupid smile I couldn't wipe off my face for 20 minutes. I felt like an idiot. Ha. Was funny.

It was tough for a while in the middle of the Summer every time the delivery date got pushed. Was not Skaters fault. But Im totally good now. As I posted somewhere earlier The shake down cruise it got at Mercury Racing was priceless. It got run wide open from one end of lake winnabego to the other time and time again. That lake is 30 miles long. We found things that we corrected that would have made my initial delivery a little bit of a downer as I discovered these things and had to deal with them. Again Thanx so much for the kind words. If you ever get a chance to see my 318 in person check it out. It came out so good. No words or pics are close. I did totally consider making all the engine noises for sure. Ha Thats totally funny.

Seems like a billet swim step and a grab handle would have solved the rear entry issue, plus you would have a good place to set in the water on those blazing hot days. Keep in mind also that all that beer on a hot summer day has to go somewhere. Taking a pizz in crowded waters is sometimes an art if you don't want to jump in.

Steve, check out the rear of Razor's 28 for a good example. You could go much larger than our 28's. Very clean, very functional, no in and out with the ladder every stop. You sure dont want to scratch that beautiful hull trying to fit that ladder in rough water. Dang sure not something you would want the wife or a guest trying to install because you are busy mixing drinks...

Just a thought.

I agree about the ladder thing. I needed something decent for entry. They ordered the ladder itself. It is welded to two Pin cleets like used for bumpers. They fasten in nice and tight and can't come out unless you push the buttons to get them out.
When you don't need it you un pin it and it folds up. They made a special mount for it in the rear compartment. Clips in which is nice and is totally out of the way when you don't need it.
