Reeds are bad on #2 cylinder of the port engine. Of course I'm 4 months out of warranty according to Mercury. Ron took delivery and put the boat in the water at Skaterfest 2013 but Mercury contends warrantee started when motors were received by Skater in March. BS....,
Anyway anyone else have any issues with reeds at 70 hours?? My 300X's had 280 hours with no issues.

I had a similar warranty issue " time of delivery" with my 300xs's, I purchased a pair from TNT and they filed the warrant paperwork. Problem was the motors did not go into service for almost 10 months after the purchase because we were completely re-rigging the boat. I got my final invoice from Supreme, took it to JT at TNT and he called Mercury, explained the situation and they immediately added the 10 months to my warranty. I would think if you could get a delivery invoice from peter they would do the same

my starboard had 75 hours went boom due to cracked oil pump line! port had 154 wasn't super healthy looking so replaced powerhead with warranty to match port...went ahead and replaced reed blocks on both...they needed it!

LA, can you elaborate on the "port powerhead" being replaced under warranty for not "healthy looking"? Did mercury pony up and replace a non-broken powerhead under warranty?

I didn't get any warranty from merc on what I had...they were out of the original warranty terms...you get a one year warranty when you purchase long blocks direct from mercury... so I did both powerheads instead of one...at least I get 12 months instead of zero
