Default Boat runs a best of 112mph.

Well Dave Dewald continues help me make progress. He sent me a pair of 30p 5 blade cleavers w.thru-hub exhaust.
Same 60 gallons of fuel and same loads. Still just on limiter. The props he sent he had. Have another set coming in the future.
End result 112mph. Not sure what's left in this thing but it is a pretty good run.

Good Job Ron, You seem to have an endless well of speed there. I still haven't had time to switch mine out but I have a feeling they will run very well. We have a common friend who ran the same props I have and I think you may have with less pitch and the motors /boat liked them very much. On top of the weather sucking here I have been running back and forth to Fla to help my parents with things. Keep up the good work and Congrats.

What Diameter are the 30's you ran? What about drive height?

I am working on the setup on my DW and was curious to know how high I could raise the motors before the prop slip numbers really start to increase. Assuming the water pressure was not an issue. My 5 blade Herings are 14.50 Dia and 32 Pitch.

Don
They are 14.5 + 30p Thru-hub cleavers.
Drive height is 2 3/4".
I started out with 4.5% slip and now am up to just over 8%. Hoping to try something with some more pitch like 32's and maybe a bit more diameter if I try and go a little higher. Not sure how much faster this thing can go

Thanks for the info. I am also @ 4% Slip right now (Stock lowers) and trying some different things with water pickups to be able to raise the motors.

You should come down to the SBI races in Marathon and we can swap props. I would love to try yours? Are they round ear or cleavers?

They are cleavers. Wont make Marathon, Have prior commitments over here.
But if you want to try them we can figure something out after Jacksonville. My boat will be at the paint shop for a week or so (Mid June) and I could ship them over for you to try. Let me know.

Sounds good. I have another set coming from Dewald soon with some pitch also. Will get an update from him on when they will be available.
I appreciate the offer.
Hanging out with Kirkland at the race and his 28. Hope to make it over the west coast this summer as well. Maybe in July.
