Yes, my trailer tongue is shorter. I plan to see how much tongue weight I have in the spring at a CAT scale. If it's more than 800lbs, I think I'll extend the tongue a couple of feet. It seems to tow OK, though.

From this pic I bet you are no where close to 800#...unless you have something going on in your ride..But I may be wrong.I would keep it the same...I think my trailer would pull that much better being shorter..Alot of flex going on back there.:drink:

I made yet another change to the exhaust, removing the mufflers and installing just tips with Gibson turn-downs. I just had to see if I was losing any performance from the mufflers. Despite the 84dB MN noise restriction, I saw lots of boats getting away without mufflers last summer. I'll give it a try, at least until I get a ticket. :evilb:

will those turn down exhaust pipes be submurged? the 31 sonic sits low in the rear .

Yes, they're in the water and it really quiets things down at idle.

What size did you go with? I was planning on doing the same.....I believe they have two lengths??

These are the 8" pipes, but I'd actually recommend the 12" ones. When I had them mounted on the end of 9" long mufflers, the 12's would have been too long, getting in the path of water coming off the tabs. Mounted on short tips, the 12's don't have any clearance issues. You will run into a clearance issue with your tie-bar when the drives are in the trailer position, though. You'll have to switch to a saddle-mount tie-bar.

Since I've been doing nothing but maintenance projects on the boat all winter, I decided to get the drive/tab indicator bezel powdercoated to match the other bezels. This was a much bigger project than I expected. After disassembling the unit, I sent the bezel off to one of the major boat bling suppliers. They proceeded to lose track of it and then finally return it looking like total crap with lots of particles and bubbles in the PC. I ended up finding a local guy who could do the candy blue translucent color. He did an excellent job. Putting this sucker back together was the real trick while trying not to drop the spacers and spring-loaded pointers in the bottom of the hull. It was a lot of work for a little gain. But, I'm happy with the result.

I ran this set up with a 700hp engine. I did loose 2-3 hundred rpm's but it was worth not having the cops pull you over. I am sure I will see you out there this summer.

I'm confused. You lost RPM's with just turn-downs or with mufflers? You shouldn't lose any RPM's with turn-downs. They're open pipes.
