Hey PLUM-CRAZY, small world, I launch in Hastings and hit the same waters......
I have bought cars out of state before but I was always able to drive them first! I have a few things to work on to keep me going till warm weather gets here. But I will say the boat is very clean and ran well, now I just need to put it in the water and see how it rides.

Looks like you got an awesome deal on a great boat.
You'll love how it rides! That's the reason I went with a Sonic. So, I could handle the washing machine effect that happens when all the boats are out on the weekends. I had mine airborne off a big cruiser wake last fall and the landing was nice and soft, though my wife might disagree.
I'm still trying to find a launch that I like. Last time out I tried Hub's in Hastings. But, their launch is very crooked once you get in the water. I had a helluva time getting the boat back on the trailer straight. I also tried the Beach House Marina in Bayport. It's nice, but very steep. I think I'll try the Windmill Marina in Afton, next.

There are 6 total vents for the engine compartment, the four above the rub look like they flow air in and the two below look like they flow air out of the compartment. Thats what it looks like anyways. I have not seen the boat in the water so im not sure how close to the water line that really is.
