Default 31 Sonic 575's

Heard Dano was supposed to get one?

Anyone else? How fast does it run?

Yup, got two of them! One with the XR and one with the new Sportmaster gearcase with the 2" shorties. Both ran very well on 32 lab props, the XR boat was a total rocket out of the hole we were getting mid 80's at 4800-5000RPM with about a pound of boost. Water was flat and hotter than hell so I would say 90 plus is very acheivable. The sportmaster boat we had to put a one inch extension back on the lower end as the x-dim was just to high and the props wouldn't grab. Still have to ease on plane as it slips getting it up but once there the boat definitely runs faster with the sportmasters. The sportmaster drives are giving about 1-2mph more top than the XR so if anyone is considering those drives so far they seem to deliver as advertised (and they do look very nice as well). The boat fully loaded gas, water, AC, vacu-head, TV-DVD, frig etc. gps'd at 89MPH at 5100RPM. On the 31 Sonic anyway the scoops on the swim deck help alot with air circ in the engine compartment. Overall it's a pretty hot set-up and the midrange from 40-80MPH is awesome.

Yes, and as far as the x-dim you really need to be carefull. As we found in these two boats a 1" rise does produce better top end but comes at a slight price. I assume you are running a 454/B-1 set-up currently? There are a couple of things you can do. Send me an e-mail and we can discuss.

Fred,
Not really new...well maybe on the 31. I can send ya' some pics they do look sweet. I've decided that at least with the 575's it's worth giving up some of the babe lounge space on the back for the extra airflow.

Dano, do the 575's fit under the hatch without scoops? I know the older supercharged 525's did.

Yes they will, the hatch is raised slightly and hollowed out inside but no one would know what is in there!
