Dale Hollow is arguably the prettiest lake in the state of TN.
The shoreside facilities are excellent. Our favorite is Sunset Marina near Byrdstown, TN.
You can also visit nearby Cumberland and Center Hill Lakes while in the area.

Cig 20,
You can get to both of the other lakes by trailer. Less than 1 hour drive each way.
No speed limits, except for no wake zones, of course.

Is Dale Hollow a better place to houseboat than Cumberland, we have done Cumberland a few times but never been to Dale Hollow.

And Steve your right about filling in your location, not doing it is one of my little pet peeves

Ms PatriYacht,
I hear you. For instance if cig20 is from Florida??, I would just say stay there until next spring or summer , and then come up............
However, if he's from your neighborhood, I would say come on down and enjoy the nice Fall colors and mild weather !
Re the houseboat thing, my parents had a Summerset on Cumberland when we all lived in KY, and those were some sweet summers. A lot people from IN/KY/OH/IL still regard Cumberland as "holy water" for houseboats and hot rods, and I agree it is a big beautiful lake.
Dale Hollow is IMHO, an even prettier lake, and also great for houseboating and hot rodding. Hey, they're both great, as is Center Hill, just south of Cookeville, TN and I-40. It doesn't have the big regional/national reputation of the other 2 lakes, and most of us like it that way. It is easy to access, but feels like you're out on a remote mountain lake, very laid back.
Hey, they're all nice..........
for pics and information on Dale Hollow, and my favorite Marina/resort see www.sunsetmarina.com .
Regards,
Steve

Steve, i travel to the Nashville area and have looked at Dale hollow on the internet but never in person. Are there homes to rent with boat docks similar to Loto? I'm planning a boating vacation and possibly a relocation scouting trip this summer with my boat and am looking for large lakes with homes and boat docks to consider. Thanks in advance. Doug
