I'd be up to meet anywhere, but was thinking of just meeting up out on the water, like at a designated beach or cove er island inaccessible by car. A little more laid back if you will.
Not just one weekend, but every weekend. If ya wanna come out- great, if not - great. If you just wanna kick it and look at some cool azz boats - GREAT
I've got about 3 good spots I keep going to.
One of my favorites..

I am in. I cant wait to get back on the water. I have about 4 weeks worth of work to do on the boat first. Any of you thinking about going to the Shootout in Clear Lake May 2-3?
Back side of Wood Island here, 6 feet deep at the drives.

Our Eagle mtn. group is planning to either do the Tickfaw or the Outlaw challenge(shootout). I will be coming back from desert storm, so dont know if we will go all the way to Tickfaw. Lets start puttin this Texoma meet together. We could even hire a photographer to take some pics from the air. We are puttin something on at Eagle mtn. would any of you be interested? Im thinking fun run, shootout, tie-up, party, etc....
Excalibur, love that boat. Is it still white? ours is white and i just cant decide what to put on it except hot women and beer.

ExcaliburHawk - nice spot. Pretty much the kind of spot I'm talking about. Some place for the whole family. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of grandpappy's or cedar mills, but the timing of it makes it tough. Its hard to get a couple of boats together at a specific time unless its a poker run. I don't want to wait around a restaurant waiting to meet a bunch of guys. I could be there all day and not know. Or you could be there for 1-2 hours and still not meet everyone. If it were on a beach I'd still be enjoying the lake and I certainly won't mind waiting er lounging around all day since thats the usual anyways.
Unfortunately I have no plans to travel outside of Texoma. Its a new boat to me and right now all the money is going into it. I'll be lucky if I can just get comfortable driving it by Tickfaw. Its my first twin engine.
txwatergypsy - what do you say about the laid back meet and greet idea? Why don't we each post up a map of some good beach spots and pick one out.

texoma, i can tell you for sure our group will be at north island on mem. day right in the middle of the action. We get there early and leave late. would love to meet up with you on a beach you suggest sometime this spring. our boat club will probably start at a marina/ resturaunt and run together to a beach spot. would love to have you run with us.

I'm usually at the islands anyways, so I'll look for ya. I don't see why we couldn't do both a restaurant and beach meet and great. There is only so much lake to run on and only so much food you can eat, some R&R has got to fit in there somewhere.

#1 - I think this is the back of wood island ExcaliburHawk was talking about. If not please correct me. One my other favorite spots. Not too much traffic. Like Masher mentioned - a windy day may be a little ruff, but it just depends on where the wind is coming from. Its got a good drop off, and good clean sand. The beach is huge, plenty of room for anchoring.
#2 - The smaller island just south of north island, or just the north party island. Lots of traffic, lots of partying. I get kind of stressed out dodging all the idiots. Don't even get me started on the trash.
#3 - Sunset cove, also one of my favorites. Its not so much exposed to the open water and boat traffic. There is boat traffic, but not as much as the other two. Its a deep cove so the traffic doesn't usually carry a wake all the way in were we could anchor. The deep cove also gives a ton of shelter from the rough water on windy days. I actually see a lot of boats use it for shelter for big storms. It used to be a public beach, but they tore up the road after they couldn't stop the drug trafficking. There is a ton of room to park and there are nice beaches on either side.
#4 - My personal favorite, I've named it Andy's beach, but I'll admit that its not good for large groups.Thats probobly one of the reasons why I like it so much. There is one small cove within the cove that I like to go to. The water is real deep. Its the only area I know of on the lake where the water is clear enough to see your toes. The rock cliffs make white sand and for some reason the water is ALWAYS colder over there. The white sand beach has a straight 10-15ft drop off and is great for beaching, just not a lot of room. Maybe 3 boats tops.
Anyhow these are just some idea's for a weekend meet and greet spot. Not just a one time deal, but every weekend.
Regardless if this gets put together or not - If I'm on the lake you can find me in one of these spots. If your unfamiliar with the lake, then I've just done your homework for ya because after 20 years on the lake, and 10 years as the captain with over 100hrs logged per year - these are the best spots I know of. Hopefully I've overlooked some others and some one else will chime in to tell me his/her favorite spot and why.
