Troper,
It was awesome seeing your boat on the trailer pointed north towards the lake yesterday afternoon.
I hope all your gremlins are behind you now.

Trav,
What a great looking boat for sure!!!
Good luck with your survey and seatrial.

See ya,
Kelly

Nice and Clean. Good Trailer. You can bring that boat anywhere. Congrats.

Well just left the boat on the way to the airport. Let's just say that I'm still shopping and I'm out some $$$$!

Sorry to hear that news.
FWIW, I had to jump the same hurdles your experiencing now with my internet boat search.
I found it much more affordable to pay for a survey/seatrial than to go out in person and preview the unit for sale.
It sucked bad only seeing all the pictures the surveyor took and not in person but I think it helped me not become to attached to a particular boat. I did help bigtime in the fact that it was a lot easier to throw out my cancellation of the purchase contract and a new lowball counter offer due to my survey than to do the same face to face.

Good luck in your continued search.

See ya,
Kelly

I had it surveyed and he told me about it, but he brought up the fact that to me it might be ok, everyone has there own opinions and if not I might be able to offer the guy less and have it fixed. I had already bought the ticket, and I really liked the boat itself so I went against my better judgement. I got out there and it was so bad I didn't even want to make a offer, I just wanted to punch the guy in the face. Lesson learned...

Sorry to hear that. When I bought my Cigarette, I found out that the engines needed rebuilts. I payed for a compression check which failed and they cut open the oil filters and found metal in it. I could have walked away and lost the money I spent for the engine check. Also, I had the drives looked at. They were fine. I got the boat reduced $10,000 thinking that I only had to get the engines rebuilt. During the rebuild, I found out that the engines had heli coils in it. i could not have lived with that. Basically the blocks were not good in my opinion. $23,000 later, I had the blowers rebuilt, rebuilt carbs, new 502 DART BLOCKs, Crane rollers and lifters, roller cam, pistons, rings, etc. Even though I was very dissapointed in spending more money than I wanted, I ended up happy knowing I had basically new and better engines, not just a common rebuild. These boats are expensive. If I ever buy another USED high performance boat, I will assume engine rebuilds in the budget. If you don't have the money to do it, then hold off and save. That's my 2 cents.
