GameOver1stmate:
Unfortunately, I'll be out of town on business for the meeting.
I am in for Good Friday if anybody else wants to go. Or, we could just keep it simple and stay on OH. Anchor High opens at 3:00 on Fridays (maybe earlier on GF?). The new Hermitage Hooters may be open for (shore ) lunch by then too.
Regards,
Steve

There is a lot of history behind that boat. That boat had some big blower motors at one time...then I got the motors out of it. It also took a lick with a forklift......Another friend of mine said he saw it and said it was ragged out. BUT...for the money, you could rework it and still be in it right 85, 90 grand you could have a really nice piece. That was the lightest 38 ever made. It is a fast hull. The molds have been sold to a guy in Atlanta, and they are getting ready to start building them again. How cool is that! How is the 28 doing?

My Equalizer is running very well, I upgraded the oil cooler over the winter to the Teague offshore cooler and had to rebuild the ext. steering rams. I am going to try a Hydromotive 5 blade this spring as it seems to be the prop to run on similar type hulls. I have read that it will give stern lift which is what I need. I can consistently run in the low 70's but if I remove the back seat and hatch I run 77-78 with a 24P Bravo.

I think it would be great to have more Strykers out there. I would love to find a 34 or 38 in good condition

I see that you have tackled your transom rebuild. How is that going?

You may want to read some of the posts by Steve Zucherman on his 28 nordic. He has just about dialed in his 28......which is the exact same bottom as the 28 stryker....they are both pulled off of a sleekcraft originally. He does have a small step that you don't have but that is a couple of MPH. He is at about 84 to 85 with 700 HP and a 5 blade. I cant remember what you said the 540 was making? I have just about got the transom repaired.....I have worked very little on it, but I am getting ready to finish it up. What is your email....I will tell you about the new engine upgrades.

Is your first state e-mail still good? have sent you e-mail address there.

I am making 580+HP in a 509. Can't get the boat up on the pad with a bravo prop and the back seat/hatch weight. Actually went faster 4 up when everyone was at the front.

Ditch the Hatch, convert to Tractor pull Zoomies straight up! This about going fast, not comfort or practicality!

Zoomies huh, I probably live in one of the few places where most of the neighbours would think that was cool.

Running without the backseat and the hatch has you nervously looking over your shoulder as the motor tries to catch up to you turning 5800rpm.

The boat was so responsive without the bachseat/hatch weight that we mistimed it and stuffed it through the top of a tugboat wave and got about 200 gallons of water over the screen.

That 50 degree water will wake you up right quick.
