Default Sea Tow or Boat US in SE Florida?

What are your opinions for the West Palm to Lauderdale area with regards to your experiences and recommendations between Sea Tow or Boat US?

If you are a AAA member Sea Tow gives a discount on membership, I was with boatUS, but probably switching to Seatow this year.

Not an AAA member, no need.

So... group consensus is Sea Tow is the better choice?

In your area...

They have a bad rep for pulling stuff like this

If for some sadistic reason, you do decide to use Sea tow in south Florida, I suggest you get yourself a stainless 12 guage to keep seatow from getting close enough to pirate your boat. Tape a note to the end of the barrel that states "this is not a salvage"....

The 2 incidents that I know about were both flips(salvage), I have heard of Towboat doing the same thing. We had to get towed from the Haulover sandbar back to the ramp during the Miami -Bimini run this year, and the standard tow was just as good as towboat US. My boat is not worth the salvage, if I flip or sink it, they can keep it
