I am putting together a conference call for existing equipment owners interested in running under the new format.

Please email your name, boat #, boat name, and contact telephone #, and maybe a little history of your boat to jog my memory.

[email protected]

Thanks,

Ken Doyle

Donz....
If you have something to offer to get in a race boat...you should post on here looking to run in the Class with the older Super Vee's and post what you can bring to the table...as far as expireance and money and see if any of the guys who own a SV will come out and play....some guys are just strapped for money and its keeping them out of racing.....

Manitie,

I did post to all racers to see if anyone need my help as team crew or a driver...However, I received very very few responses. I am eagar to learn howo to handle a race boat and get more involved with offshore boat racing. I have no experiences with boat racing.

Your more then welcome to come out and crew for us...but it would be at your expense...I would feed you and buy your drinks for your help to see what kind of work you can do..

But if your going to race....you would have bring money to the table for most teams that are looking for a driver...if your from MI. there are teams from up that way...but if you show up at races and talk to guys they may be more informed to bring you on when they have you in person and talk to ya....every racer and crew guy had to start somewhere at one time or another...you should shoot down to the O/C race in June...a lot of teams from up North will be there and you can talk to a lot of guys...

Driver of Donzi........
Great advice from Poo.
If you get to any SBI races, look me up and I'll see to it you get an entry list.
And save it....don't throw it away, keep it for future reference, collect as many as you can, and in a few years, watch how the boats, owner/driver and names and numbers change .......learn the trivia.

If you can get to Sarasota or Key West this year, you will get to see/meet the best of the best.
Your enthusiasm will pay off........Pat D.

Manitie and Poo,

Thanks for many advices!!! i really appreciate it a lot. Yes, I am from Michigan and am planning on attending Algonac and St. Clair races. I studied myself for since 2004. I know pretty well with boats and teams but not completely yet. For your information, I am DEAF but more likely hard hearing beacuse I wear hearing aid on my left ear. I can talk and read lips pretty good. I am attempting to become first deaf driver to raceat offshore boat racing, even national and World Champs.
I talked with Smitty (President of OPA) and was told to meet him at any races. I told him that I planned on attending Algonac race.

My questions are:

How can I get to see wet pits more closer if there is a line that fans can not cross?

I don't have any kind of clothes related to offshore boat racing to wear....

How much cost for each crew and each driver to pay for its own expenses?

Can you tell me about yourself, Poo?
