I drove Superbabi in Toms River a few months back. Perfect water. Beat every boat. And saw 83.7 on the GPS, not 78.

Rick, I think JC Perf. has the two Garys mixed up. I think he is referring to the test on Oh-Zones Boat for that magazine. You know the day it ran 78 hitting the rev limiter with a 28p Bravo 1 shop test prop. The same day the 29' Activator ran 80 with a $3,000 six blade...

Pat,
I was there that day. Gary was using a prop that ran aground. He sent it to Merc. They did what they could do. They told Gary they had to remove approximately 5% of the blade area. Prior to the grounding, Gary was seeing a solid 79 on the GPS in calm water. During the shoot, the best he could get was 77.1. The Activator was seeing 79.9, and hit 80. So it's only 2.9 mph faster. Well.... it's also a 3' shorter boat.

Dyno run was 801.7 at 6000rpm. I have a feeling he may have backed off the timing when he installed it in the boat though. I'm gonna check next time I hit the water.
