You could always go the route Faster went. Have the boat rigged with Merc stuff then trade in for bigger power.

The answer to the question of stock merc power going in is no... for the time being. From what I can gather the 6.2 package is not ment to be hopped up, so when you add a whipple you are really taxing the motors. Does it work, yes but at that point your at the maximum your ever going to get out of this package.
So since your warrenty is now void, and to get any more performance if needed means swapping out engines, I would rather start with something thats a much better building block.
My plan is to provide complete motors to John w/ all the goodies ready to go. Assuming they are doing the rigging. I really need to get a hold of John or get my ass out to NY before too long passes.
Now if I can get my hands on some 377 scorp's then I would consider using stock merc power!!! Those are sweet motors to play with, too bad merc dropped them from the line up.
Oh and Rick if you get a chance take a look at a few questions I asked earlier in this post... I really need to get out to the shop soon. LOL

I've heard that there are still some new motors at the guys that buy up the left overs from merc.... I'm waiting to see how much the built motors are going to be. Shooting for 500hp NA then if its not enough or maybe I just feel the need to smoke everyone we can bolt on some prochargers or blowers or something without much hassle!!! So how fast can you really push a 30Y2K????
