Hey Rob,
Hopefully we might be almost done with the deck tomorrow or thurs. I'll have pictures tomorrow.
I printed out the Shields web pages for Coen. he liked the price. The ones he used were 3/4" thick and cost alot more. I think they would be no problem for us. We even have a template to send them.

Rick

Sweet... Yeah the 1/2" ones sound plenty stout and I have to say they do look great with the lines of the deck. Hows your schedule looking towards the end of the month Rick? I'm thinking it would be a good time to visit superboat land?

we won't start the hull till next week. When we finish the deck it will probably be Thurs. I'm not going to spray a hull and have it sit all weekend. I want it skinned the next day. So hopefully Monday.

Now if I can get my hands on some 377 scorp's then I would consider using stock merc power!!! Those are sweet motors to play with, too bad merc dropped them from the line up.
Rob,
I would agree with your statement that Whipples on stock 350 SBC would be "taxing the motors". But the 300HP/350mag package is about the best bag for the $$.
Now the 320HP/6.2 is not a stock engine. It does have a stronger rotating assembly than a stock 350mag. How much stronger? I don't know, but they are alot more $$.
Is the 350HP/377 scorp built with a different rotating assembly than the 320HP/6.2(377)?
I don't know the answer to that either, but I would guess the difference between the two engines is valve-train and blue paint.
Have you talked to Dustin at Whipple? I'm quite sure he knows the best way to put together a 500+HP Whipplecharged SBC. Hell, I might just call him for ya...

Victory Marine in TX was advertising 377scorps a while back.
