How about the Sage#8 drive for the 1000. Jeff did say it would be the perfect drive for a Y2K with big power.

Rick I know the sage is a nice set up, But the merc. is very easy for local repair, you saw last summer Typhoon Perf. got me up and running with no down time on the XR problem.

Re: 550-600 HP Small block

Hi All,

Props to JCPerf

We do a 600 HP, SBC, 434 CI, Solid roller, Carb motor, but you'd probably be happier with a hydraulic roller motor, less tuning.

An AL head, BBC weighs about 650 lbs, an Iron headed SBC weighs about 570 LBs, and one motor gives you half as much tuning, repairs and better fuel and range, and half as much stuff to buy.

A new 500+ HP SBC isn't much cheaper then a 660 HP BBC, and the BBC has more torque.

We Do a 660 hp 540 CI, and 572 CI 725 hp/720 tq, Hyd Roller Carb Motor, both start at $11995 w dyno sheet.

We can detune a 540 to 600 hp if you don't want to break anything

We do a 598 CI, Hyd roller, carb motor, starts at $12,995 w dyno sheet.

We do a hydraulic roller 632 CI, 760 hp 790 tq, carb motor, starting at $14,995,

Lots of options available, we build to order.

Those big cube small blocks cost more than a big block...
I know you said naturally aspirated Gary, but how about a set of 350s or 377s with small blowers.
Hey engine gurus how about 500HP SBC blower motors that will live 500 hours??? :evilb:

Re: 550-600 HP Small block

Hey Guys,
Are these big cube small blocks standard or tall deck blocks? If they are tall deck blocks, they may not fit side by side in a Y2K.
The standard 350s or 377s get shoehorned in. I know I wouldn't want to be the guy that has to change the spark plugs.

I read an article on a boat with whippled 6.2. Supposedly it made around 500HP from the stock 320HP

350mags or 6.2s with Whipples would be a great way to go... :evilb:
