I think the package is 11K, plus 5K for the whipple.
So fiigure 14K for the motor package with the XR upgrade, and another 5K for the whipple. Your talking around 20K motor, or 40K full. And it would look sick as sh@t with those twin superchargers!!

Hey Rick,
I just looked up the 320HP/6.2s. With a Bravo drive they are about 16K. I'm not sure the $ with your discount.
The 300HP/350Mag Bravo packages is 3K less; how about Whipples on them?
Whipple kits are 6K each and I would guess the warrenty goes out the window...

Pat , Rick, I really like the merc 6.2 idea , whipple, XR, set up. What if we went a local like JCPERF. ZUL to build a small block 300-350 hp that is built superduty for the whipple ???? Any savings over the merc motor ????

Nedd to ask JC or Zul about that. I don't know how much they charge for their small blocks.

Ok after talking to JC the surface drive idea is out the window... but 6.2's are looking like a viable option now. And I could never give up 3+ feet of cockpit so the staggered idea is done too.

Rick do you know how far you can move the SBC's forward and how long of a drive shaft/ transmission you would need? If this route saves enough money i might add trannys for the hell of it?

I was at the Hartford boat show on Saturday and saw a number of Ski boats with these babies in them.
Real nice engine package.

I wonder why Merc has not gone to the new GM 6.0L base engine yet?
Anyway, I know that we've been talking bigger power, but a set of these 375HP aluminum head new generation small blocks should push a 30' Super pretty well... :drink:

Re: 550-600 HP Small block

I was playing around a little on desk-top-dyno...

Using a 350 block bored and stroked to 383cube
Ported aluminum heads, with big valves, flow numbers
Multi port EFI with a 900cfm throttle body
10:1 compression
and two different Comp Cams hydraulic roller marine grinds.

Max horsepower numbers were around 450HP at 5500rpm.
Not too bad...

Increasing the cubes to 427 or 454 did not bring the power up over the 500HP mark until I changed the cam to a solid roller to run the engine 6000+rpm.

Now take the same 383, lower the compression to 9:1, and bolt on a 250 size blower at 5lbs.
Like 575HP at 5500rpm... :evilb:

That sounds like one hell of a way for me to waste time... How do you get desk-top-dyno?
