Yup...
I have brakes on all four wheels of my trailer.

Thanks!! Trade!!!??!!! Not anytime soon!! For once I'm pretty content with my setup, might consider some more horsepower once that 496 gets tired...... Dec 31 ran 72.6 mph gps with three guys and 3/4 tank on a light chop (perfect Y2K water) in the cool Texas weather - what a BLAST!!!!!!

I have a Chevy 2500 to tow my 24. I don't even know my boat is back there.

What gas mileage / motor do you have Dave?

I have the 6.0L/w 4.10 rear. The MPG SUCKS! I get around 13 mpg non towing, and around 10-12 towing. I should of listened to the experts and ante'd up for the deisel. The Duramax gets around 19 from what I read.

At least I know that I will be able to tow a Y2K without a problem! :D

I always use low on any 4x4 I have owned its easyer on every thing.:D

I don't think disk brakes on the rear of the Jeep is going to help much. When the brakes on my trailer are working well, I can feel them holding the Jeep back.
A 30min ride with a 5000+lbs tow is a bit much for a Wrangler IMO. The biggest problem towing with a Wrangler is the short wheel base. They have plenty of power, but stopping a heavy load is risky...
The two ranps that I use are within 10miles from my house. Most of the Summer I leave my boat at a marina on the trailer and use their ramp; so, it's just in and out.

I also tow with a full size Chevy. Smaller motor (5.3) than Dave's. To make up for the smaller displacement I added dual exhaust, K&N cold air intake and a throttle body spacer. Big improvement in the torque and picked up the MPG.
