Pulled the forward cockpit hatch out of the new mold along with the frame. Thay came out awesome. The hinges will be recessed into the hatch. This hatch is 66" long. We're also making a shorter (38") version for the back to cover the batteries and oil tank.

I started building boats when I was 17, at Sumnercraft in Amityville. When I was 19, I started with Superboat. Worked there for around 5 years. The it was into my own fiberglass repair/ Marine Surveying business. Around 6 years ago I went back to Superboat. Theres something about building these boats that I love. It's enjoyable going to work in the morning. Not many people can say that.

On the inside of the boat, what is that green strip running the length of the hull where the topsides meet the bottom?

Noli, thats Divinycell foam coring. That strip is used to support the floor where it meets the side of the boat.

That strip is the hulls outer lip that deflects the spray out for a dry ride. It looks different because its not cored.

The molded liner for the forward storage area is done and will be glassed in today. Then the deck goes back on and we can finally finish this boat.
