So, no one wants to buy it so I don't have to look at it anymore?:party-smiley-004:

I am quessing the boat was orig insured and a claim put in on it. I assume the hull is now a salvage hull if an insurance claim was issued ? If so I believe it un unregisterable with the current vin. I think $1500 the numbers alone would be worth that if the hull was reg was clean.

Last I knew there was about 20gal of gas still in the tank so you could take a match to it...:D

On a serious side, I talk to my bud that owns a Seatow franchise and he recently dumped 2 wrecked boats at the local landfill for $200 each. If the gas tanks had been removed it would have been $50 per. They just crushed them up with a bulldozer after removing the tanks...:evilb:

I did collect the full amount of my insurance policy and then negotiated a deduction from the claim to salvage the boat.
I kept the engine, drive, and sold the swim platform.
Chad bought the rest for parts for his Banana restoration project.
I don't know how it works with "totaled" boats. Maybe it would have to be inspected before it could be registered again similar to a car. I guess that would depend on the state too. I did give Chad a bill of sale and the reg renewal signed over to him.
I do know the trailer is good to go as I brought it in for new tires and bearings before it made the trip to Texas. Chad has the receipt for the repairs along with a bill of sale and title for the trailer.

Thanks Pat, I believe you are right. And I am not asking $1500 just for the boat, I only want $500 for the boat, and $1000 for the trailer (which is fully registerable). There is still some stuff in the superboat like the gas tanks, fittings, nav lights, some wiring, and superboat interior minus the bolsters. I am going to try to register it this week and see what happens.

Hey Chad,
If you get questioned about a title for the boat, tell them there are no titles on boats in CT, just the reg. I did have the NY title, but as you know, UPS lost that when I sent it to you.

Boat Is Junk

If the Insurance was collected, the boat can never be reg or titled again. The boat is junk. I fig that becuase a legit reg/title with a vin is worth a few thousand for the right boat. This boat is junk only good for parts that may be on it and the trailer is worth something to someone. Thats why it's sitting on the best selling place in the world EBAY for $1500 no bids. You are better off removing the boat and selling the trailer by it-self. Have a barn fire witht that suberboat hull, video it and stick it on u-tube for fun.

Sounds like you might have an interest in seeing this boat go away:party-smiley-004:

You can deffinetly register a salvage boat. It happens all the time. Full coverage insurance is a different story.
