You can deffinetly register a salvage boat. It happens all the time. Full coverage insurance is a different story.

I did receive a registration renewal this spring even though the boat was "totaled" some 5 months earlier. This would indicate to me that it could be registered.
FX-10 has posted that he has purchased boats from insurance companies to fix up in the past.
Like I said earlier, different states may have different laws.

For $500, it might make a good planter...:p

Where's glassdave?? he can fix it!!!! plus I have a 55 gallon drum of epoxy in the garage....

trust me totalled boats can be registered and sold.

We have come across a few that some poor slobs bought without surveys only to start to fall apart after a season of use.

Both times it was listed on ebay no one bid. I looked for the VIN # and it was not on the boat. I worked for State Farm Ins, I will run the VIN and see what comes up you anyone can post it. I am absolutly positive it will come up Salvage. Getting a renewal means jack sh*t that is just the DMV spitting it out from a computor. (( The Vin will be flagged from 48 states that joined and all must be in by2009,,states that use DMV, Tax stations,Tax collections ))

Rob, that wou'ld be a awesome pickup for you if you did it yourself. I don't have any time to spare for it, or I would do it. You know the deal. @ $1,500.00 for the whole package, it's worth it. Damn !! The trailer is worth a few $.

insurance and regstration are totally different things. You "may" not be able to get full coverage but you would be able to get liability. You could definetly get the boat registered. What do you think happens to everyboat that catches fire or sinks and gets totally redone??? Maybe they are just doing that as a hobby :rolleyes:

I have the hull number but I'm not going to post it without Chad giving the OK.
Chad, do you want me to post it?
Like I said earlier, the trailer is good to go with new tires and bearings. The brakes and actuator are 4 seasons old.

Superboat salvage hull

I can run all vin numbers through a US data base that 98% of DMV, Tax depts use now. This tells everyone who is linked up what the status of any vehicle is now. There have been too many scams over the years. getting fake titles from other states and reg cars, boats etc to diff states but now the states are cracking down on this and going after people who have done it. (( I see the boat relisted for the third time on ebay, first two times no one bid - now the auction is at $300 to start much better idea. )) Like I said if the hull vin was clear the hull title and vin plate would be worth $1500 by itself to a criminal. The trailer I quess around $1200 it's worth if it has a legal trasnferable reg.

Trojan-man 04-01-2008 01:53 PM

The boat is titled and registerable in Texas, It was titled last week.

The trailer is also titled and registered in texas.
