Ok, survey time, wanted peoples opinion on something....
Trying to figure out whether I want to put the steering wheel on the left side of the console, and throttle right handed, or on the right side of the console, and throttle left handed. Upside to going steering wheel on the right is that the section on that side were you would mount gauges is wider...but then you are throttling left handed. If I go steering wheel on the left, then I am throttling right handed, but may have to move some gauges around as I am also doing a mercury racing vessel view system. Any feedback appreciated, I attached a picture from a 21' millenium and my actual console for reference |

I like the wheel on the left, and throttling with my right hand
|
Ditto.
Wheel - Left Throttle - with the Right hand. The boat is looking awesome. Will you have cushions on the seats with "Superboat" embroidery? ....noli |
Yea, I am leaning that way, not only because thats been most of my experience, but also because my right shoulder is all screwed up, and being able to keep that hand lower on a throttle as opposed to higher on a wheel is more comfortable
Anyone got any thoughts on actually throttle set up? Throttles together on inside with shifters together on outside, or go shifter, throttle, throttle, shifter? |

Sean, looking good. You should be a happy man :)
Your hull has been in the mold a long time. I think that the longer it's in the mold to cure, the better. When do you think George will have her? noli |

Had a nice brainstorming session at the shop today. Sean was finally able to see his new baby. The proud new daddy. ;)
#1- Boat looks great!!! Rick has done an amazing job, his workmanship is top notch! This is why I went with Superboat, for the moment today, when I was able to see 3 months of work really come together and know I have watched my boat get built from scratch #2- I have enough LED interior lights to light up Manhattan, this boat is gonna glow in the dark, love it! #3- By 'brainstorming session', Rick means George, JC, me and him talked about rigging the center console for ten minutes, and then told stories about boating, stupid things guys do boating,.s....good times! #4- George had some great ideas on lay out for the console, only reinforces what I already new....boys at Accurate are going to do a great job. Decesions on the console rigging were: #1- Steering wheel on the left, throttle right handed #2- Shifter will go S-T-T-S #3- Vessel view will go in the panel in front of steering wheel, GPS will go in the panel to the right, then next to the gps, we will do five gauges with angle bezels facing the steering wheel, two psi, two water temp, one fuel gauge #4- 3 batteries, two cranking, one house, and trim pumps will be mounted inside the console, as opposed to in the back. #5- Will be doing a blue/white upholstery. Really want a Superboat emblem stitched into the back seat, but JC says he hasnt had much look with them Overall, it is really looking great and according to Rick and JC, this week will really pull the boat together. Deck will be popped out, attached to the hull, etc. By the end of the week, it will really look like a true vessel! Now....need to decide on a name:) |
great time this morning.....glad we got a few questions answered and great to hang with JC , Sean and rick....

Sean, found the Cargo nets to hold down the bumpers in the front storage area.. They are 11" X 30". I have to double check the dimensions when I get into the shop. the pictures in the link are for illistrations, not of the actual net. Damn, these things are pricey... $ 18.95 each. Alot cheaper then I thought. I'm running late, slept through the alarm. Good ol Tylenol PM's ;)
