Dangit!

I miss loging into OSO for a day and Sean's boat gets completed!

I luv your choice of stainless rubrail. Looks classy!

The transom came out purrrfect, and SB Bob looks like he's got the seats moving forward in-record-time.

Boy you guys move quick! Looks like George will get her on time.

Looks like you can put a nice cushion seats that spans across just forward of the splash well. Hook it up on those lips on the stbd and port sides.

Will the seats swivel?
What kind of steering wheel will you put on Sean?

damn this 30 is lookin' hot!

ndaniels 01-23-2010 12:15 PM

Are those the same seats that go in the 21s cut down, or y2k- hell they might even be the same seat they use in both boats, I dunno?

Are you going to use the thick bottom cushion? It looks like it will be a really nice setup for seating, imo.

Noli- there will be a removable bench seat (with a cushion), that will go across the back, need to dig up a pic of what it looks like

Yes,I beleive those are the buckets they use in a 30', but they are cut down about 8 inches (that one pic shows the regular bucket and then the one cut down). They are being cut down so that someone sitting on the backward facing seat isnt knocking their head against the bucket. That backward facing seat I only see being used for casual cruising, not much to grab onto and you dont want to be clanging heads with the two people in the buckets at 70 mph. But overall, I am very happy with the design and the way it came out, provides some additional storage, but gives a more snug feel for the driver, and, if you want a little bench to sit off to fish, you have it.

Looks like the deck and hull were glassed together today and rest of the rubrail was mounted. Some shots of the transom....if you look at the first shot, you can see my boat, and the current model for stock behind it and see difference in heights of the transom cutout

Rick awesome job. Now the 30 has more usable space.

When will the rear bench seat fiberglass job start?

Will the rear bench seat be covered with cushions?

The rear seat is done, JC just needs to figure out what/how it will be fastened down so that its also removable. Their will be a small cushion on the seat as well, we are doing white/navy blue on the cushions for the interior. I am tempted to ask JC if a removable Sun pad could be fabricated....just so I can see him turn red and say "what the hell do you need that for" :)

Thanks Gary, getting real excited, really came together in last week or so, and Rick is doing his usual kick arse job on everything.

Starting to play with gauge/bezel combos, boys at Accurate are gonna set it up nice

Really want to have it in on April 3rd (first sat in April), gives me a good two months of dial in time before the summer crush begins

Everything about Superboat is custom.
Look at those seats!

The Livorsi controls are like fine jewelry! Must be very smooth.

Rick, after Sean's 30 leaves the shop, what boat will you be starting next?

Whichever one you decided to buy next Noli:evilb::evilb:

noli 01-29-2010 08:03 AM

My preference for the next boat would either be a Skater32 or a Superboat42.

But I don't think JC would stretch the 34 anytime soon :)

I wonder what an SB42 would cost...hull only :drink:

elvisali 01-29-2010 09:17 AM

Just talked to Rick, seats went out for upholstery today

I am swinging by the shop tomorrow to sit in the seat/console set up to see how high a base needs to be built to raise the console.

Also swinging by accurate to go over jackplates and steering. So gonna be a busy Saturday....maybe go to bed, bath and beyond, but dont know if we will have time:evilb:

noli 01-30-2010 06:53 AM

S,

Please bring your camera when you visit the shop for the seat height measurements....pics pics pics :)

More some shag carpeting and a nice chandelier to hang inside the centerconsole:)

Boat coming along nicely. Whats the deal does every part have to be custom made. It has to be costing you a fortune. I like the twin buckets. Can your feet touch the ground when sitting? That cushion looks pretty tall in tha pricture. Rick and Bob do nice work, your in good hands.

Z-thanks, I really like how its coming along. The only real custom part has been the seat/console. The console is a millenium console that needs a base built to raise it (which has been started), and it is coming up about 5 inches. But a mounting for a throttle also needs to be built, and that should be started this week as well.

For the seating, it is just a modified/cut down version of the seating backrest/tub they already had with the buckets bolted to it.

The actual cushion for me is going to be cut down an inch, but even with the current cushion, my feet just touch the floor, so after dropping an inch out of the cushion, should be fine.

Definitly going to cost me some more then if we just went with the stock parts they already had made, but I wanted somethng a little different, and the true 'stand up' console with a leaning post or even high bucket seat was never really going to be an option after JC, Rick and myself spent some time thinking about it, the center of gravity was to high when you were standing. Its fine with the single engine application in the 60 mph range(I have been on on it, and its very comfortable), but with duals and the speeds we predict, I wanted to spend more time driving the boat then I did hanging on for dear life:evilb:

I guess the splash well was custom as well, but JC had told me when I was first looking at them that he was going to build a splash well for a twin application.

And Rick and Bob are great. Watching Rick do his thing is an education, and I think if you told Bob to build a mold for the Eiffel Tower, he could do it in a week, guy is great at what he does

Other then the transom cut out ... what are the differences between this boat ... and the stock one ?

Can the stock transom be modified to a twin engine model ?

Some of the things I did differently from the current stock model:
#1 Blue Led Interior Lights
#2 Pop Up cleats- the ones with the pushbutton, as opposed to the ones that you pull up by the cleat itself (my son can spend hours hitting the button- it was worth the money)
#3 Optional rear bench seat (but this could be added very easily)

The other main difference would be that I went with the Millenium Center Console as opposed to the stock center console version which I feel is a little 'boxier'(but is probably better if you plan on fishing more, especially if you want one of those big chartplotters in there)
HEre are some pics of the different ones

On the single/dual engine set up, Rick /FX10 would be best guy to answer the question, but it doesnt seem unreasonable to think it could be done. Its probably a decesion you would want to make on the front end, but I am sure they could figure it out

WS402 02-03-2010 06:22 AM

I do like the millenium console as well ! That shouldn't be a problem either , as the console isn't yet in the stock boat I don't think ?

I dont think its in yet ( but they are laying it up to go in),but swapping out the console shouldnt be that big a deal (prior to rigging them of course) even if it was in there.

I'll have the shifter pod all wet sanded and polished tomorrow, along with a few coats of wax. Bob should almost be done with the console base.

Thanks Gary, the boys have been banging away, Rick kicking it as always.

Really only a few things left

#1- Finish the throttle pod
#2- Complete the base to raise the centerconsole
#3 Gelcoat the floor
#4 put the trim on the inside
#5 set up the trailer

And some other odds and ends, so I think we are really close to pulling it out of Superboat Land and moving it into Ghost Land :)

Keeping my fingers crossed for an April 3rd launch date
