Maybe that 65K price was not for real?
Or maybe OSO wants Superboat to pay for the advertizing?

Pat, my post completely vanished. Obviously it's time to change my password again!!

Strange thing Rick. I don't think someone logged in as you. The post would read deleted by you.
I do know last year when I had my boat for sale, some of my posts got deleted because I had not paid OSO the listing fee.
Only an educated guess, but your posts are probably monitored closely because you work for Superboat.

When posts are completely removed or vanished its by OSO.

Pat,
I would hardly consider this quote as advertising:
"For that price layup doesn't matter. I don't know which boat Coen is referring to. We have 2 Y2K's. Hunnington Beach's, and one at my shop. As for the 502? Noli, sure it wasn't a 496 Mag, or HO ?? With those motors you get a 6 year warranty on motor and drive, I'm pretty sure.
I believe Robs boat has the race layup, and the in stock boat is the standard layup."
I was simply stating which boats are available, which I habve been doing for years. No details, and no pictures. Hell. I post pictures of all the boats I build. And there are threads on both of the boats I mentioned.
Had you said that quote, would it have been deleted?

And if a Moderator deletes a post. It would be considerate to leave a message explaining why. My PM box is empty....................

Yea Rick, who knows.
My couple of my posts went puff too; probably because I had the price tag.
Anyway, back to the question in the thread. For the least amount of money, I'd go with the 2005 and a 500+HP engine that can be easily built for under 10K.

Pat, can you shed more light into this 500HP monster <$10K ?

how, who, where?

MRD charged me $24K back in early 90's

Hey Noli, Here is one example from MDGperf above.

I've worked with local machine shop here in CT that can do it.
I know many guys that have built 500+ 454s and 502s from new GM crate engines for under 8K including exhaust and accessaries.
Hell you can buy a marine 435HP/502 base engine from 1-800-runs new for less tha 6K and a cam upgrade for 500HP for a few hundred and get a 1 year warrenty.
I'm guessing your not a guy that has turned wrenches on a BBC befor...

I was actually an apprentice at rebuilding 350 blocks a local garage when I was 16. I abused my back working around engines and cars, and never returned...I miss it alot
