I need to get a long NY layover and ride the train out to Lindenhurst. Love to check out their shop.

Mercury Marine has requested payment prior to shipping, which has been sent last week. Any day now for the motors to arrive, fingers crossed🤞

Wouldn't you know it.... Motors arrived! That's the good news... The bad news, one came damaged and after an on the spot call to Mercury, it had to be refused as per their request. The metal cage was bent and the wrapping was torn. Upon further inspection the mid-section seems to have been scraped/skewered. Quite disappointed to say the least. Though Mercury did commit to a fast resolution, who knows what the time frame is... Frustrating to say the least.... But patience is a virtue and I hope to get it resolved in short order.

They look very nice, are they exposed backs or completely covered?

Thank you! I was debating it a bit prior, but I chose to leave the backs of the buckets (white gel) exposed, I always seem to gravitate to the old school look.

Looks awesome Gary. Sharp and functional. Up to date and simple. I love what you do with it... Couldn't get any better...

Thanks Cary. Getting quite anxious to get the rigging done. Mercury did receive the motor back and promised a quick turn around. Not sure what that entails.

Stopped by Superboat today. The replacement motor motor arrived yesterday and again this one came damaged as well. What the f#@k!!! This time just the cowl. After another call to Mercury, we kept it and they’ll send a replacement cowl.

Other than a thin cloth type wrap around the motor itself and a thin plastic outer wrapping over the cage there’s nothing of any substance to protect the motor in shipping. Looks as though something shifted in transport and poked thru. You would think there’d be something like a wire cage or plywood surround to protect these jewels in transport at these prices.
