I like it! Since going to a CC I gained an appreciation for shade.

Thanks Dave!
I have to give credit to twin o/b sonic. The checkmate he picked up for his wife with the full canvas kind of got me thinking as well.
Today I decided to add one more modification to the back. Adding a zipper to the back of the Bimini and running a flat stretch of canvas down at a 45* angle to the rear cleats. I didn’t want to enclose the entire back. Pictures to follow.

In an effort to come up with bit more of shade, weather protection, and privacy when needed with a minimalistic approach I came up with this idea. Kind of like a Jeep bikini top, or what I’ve seen on the back of some sport fisherman

Open and airy. I can still open the rear hatch. For sh!tz and giggles I could detach the back, and drop inside the forward opening hatch, and close the hatch for more of a full inclosure.

Rolls up snugly at the back of Bimini with a pair of (inward direction)zippers. Can be removed but with leaving it attached it still fits on Bimini boot.

Lots of strap length if I want to raise the hatch significantly and use the hatch to elevate the rear of the canvas.

It’s tough to come up with a canvas design that looks good on a performance boat, but your minimalist approach does the trick. Nice job!

Thank you Reynard!
Now back to John to finish up replacing a leaky steering ram and a few odd and ends. We finally received the set of Mercury racing Max5st 29 pitch props and can’t wait to test them!!

Very well appointed Y2K and those outboards say care free boating over the I/O alternative .
The sticker on the rear hatch , is it a certain size or just ask for the large one ? My 34 is going back to original white gelcoat ( painfully ) and I would really like to go with something like this .

Did it thru my local Signarama as the guy JC was using went MIA since COVID. Googled Superboat logo and did my own layout/rendition and printed on 3m reflective. The material is quite substantial. They can print whatever size you’d want pretty much. They did several different sizes for me as well. JC has since come up with a graphics guy I believe.

Yes! So we’ve been out a couple times. Ran the herring 33p which is 14 3/4 dia. not 15 as I initially thought. Also ran the max5 29-15 1/4. Maxing out rpm’s at 5700-5750 regardless of props. We also raised the motors up all the way(another 2 holes gaining a couple inches) Somethings wrong. Scanned the motors and was only getting 85% throttle. We’re running cables not DTS. Had to re-engineer the livorsi levers to get additional travel in cables and got that solved. Only had the max5 to try after. Now we’re all over the rev limiter running running mid 80. Plenty of water pressure. John spoke with mercury racing, they said next move is to try 31 pitch as we were told the 29 or 30 are basically the same prop different cup. I would have loved to try the herring’s again but weren’t available. I finally took delivery last week as I took a weeks vacation. Unfortunately the weather sucked. Between the weather and some home projects(you never get to when working) and going thru the boat, I got “0” boating in. Also trying to sort out the functionality of the Simrad screens and smart craft which takes a bit of learning. I also missed out on indoor rack storage at Rex in Norwalk as they’re sold out. So much for dragging my feet :-( Regardless hope to get the props soon and get out on the water. Planning another week vacation in August. To be continued…That about covers it. 👍
