Gary I would buy a spare drive, even a stocker. So if the XR has issues your not down and out you can still cruise around. I dont know why I did all the work to my boat, 95% of the time its under 3500. I tried a 5 blade last week that 3000rpm was 55 mph. Now that was great . Another prop thats not for sale.

Mike, I run about the same. Most of my running is under 35-4000 rpm. which is a nice fast comfortable cruise. Save the engine and drive for when your challenged!:D

Rick, glad to see your puter problems are gone !!! We should be running today somtime, I'm gonna use a B1 32"as a base line prop, and go from there.

Hey G.
How's she running?
Did you crack 90 yet?

Pure Energy 07-08-2008 12:53 PM

Gary, the higher the prop pitch the more stress you put on the drive. I think you should go with a 29 and keep the rpms around 5400 until you figure out what your going to do.
