Another problem is the good money on top of bad in a 20 year old boat factor. You would need 3 new outboards from Merc Performance (Stock outboards would fall apart MONTHLY(lower units center sections ect)guages ,paint ect.Even though the hull is structly in great shape you still drop an easy 80 grand. If you tried to do minor things as they were needed provided (parts were still available for those 2.4s) you would probably keep SEA TOW in business for the summer .If possible i definately want a ride on your Apache.
I hear ya! Ron took me for a ride a couple times in that boat, it was VERY light for its size. I could feel the water fluttering under my feet when going thru a 2 ft chop and the bow carried like it was a tunnel cat. The boat ran good when it wasn't broken though, I don't know how many power heads and lowers he blew up..

You're definetely welcome to come for a ride in the Apache anytime!

Ron has spares at home in the garage. Sharkey said he rigged that thing (rons sutphen) when he worked there. Must have been ages ago! Joe , too many tickets in the viper and now you want to get back out on the water and play? Moved back by the beach again? Lots of used boats to choose from ,good luck!

Jimmy Spiro's did most of the work maintenance on that boat, at least when I worked at the marina.

The 33 is definately a light boat ,but remember the Red Death was only a 30 with the same power as Rons boat (even lighter). You had to be real careful with the tab and drive heights in the rough stuff or you broke a lower unit or a centersection.Even with the 2.4s (which were alot better than stock outboards)if you were not paying attention (HUNGOVER ECT) it could be an expensive day.

Maybe i am missing something.I just had a guy e-mail me before about a special lightweight 41 Apache built in the lats 80s.Completely redone for 350,000.00 for an .New almost ,20 years ago it did not cost that much .Since the guy spent that much to refurbish the thing natuarlly he wants it back. How the hell do you refurbish a twenty year old hull (bulkheads stringers ect ) that in all actuallity has had the living crap beat out of it(Nobody buys a boat like that to run in smooth water).People who spent 800 grand on Outerlimits and Cigarrettes only a few years ago cant get mid 300s in this market .

I saw Ron had the sutphen out of the rack and on a work stand sat. Had a drink with Chuck and asked if he was planning on running it , he wasn't sure what the heck Ron was doing. He did say he had that and his little apache for sale again ( for like the 6th time) . Good luck Joe , I'll keep my eyes open for you!

Chuck had a bad WEEKEND.He was coming aroung the hook and dropped two lower units on the Outerlimits.Thats a large boat in some bad water .He did not hit anything so he simply overwhelmed those Bravos.
