i dig the sutphens. but imo, this ls scarab is badder than freds old 39.
if you need a cabin and all that crap, then the scarab aint for you.

DEFINATELY do not need a cabin esp since i live a mile from the marina that i plan to dock at, not to mention i never used the cabin on any boat i have owned before.

i'm not seeing this choice being too difficult.

PS (the party who informed me about the Scarab DERINATELY had an axe to grind).I guess certain issues will appear in boats of this age and performance range.(Both boats being used,ten years old in the thosand horsepower range ect.)

Why not run a newer twin step with no cabin? 700hp will get you to 100mph in a Cig. Otherwise, the #6 flag Tiger may be a good choice.

Strike , ironically i recently had was told the same thing by a friend of mine who not only owns a large marina here in NJ but has also owns or has owned just about every brand of large offshore boat out there.He basically asked me (considerating the HORRIBLE boat sales market)why would i consider paying 120-150 grand for non stepped,ten year old plus hulls ,running used everything in the thousand horsepower range, that may or may not have other issues.Considering all the above my friend claims neither boat is worth over 100 grand (maybe this is why both have been for sale for years ).

PS Nada book on the Sutphen is mid 60s without consideration for the big power or 6 drives .(Adding approx 35 grand for the upgraded drives ect and you are still nowhere near the price they want)

WHAT ABOUT A 34 NEW SUPERBOAT with twins, OR SUTPHEN 32 WITH KONRAD DRIVE 1000, SHOULD GET YOU TO 95 ERINE UP HERE IN MASS HAS THE 1ST 32 THAT DID 85 WITH 800 TO 850 HP COUGLIN MOTORS he has since put in a bigger motor a 1000 to 1200, and that new sutphen was killer in 4 to 6s off the cape in 05 or 04 opa race that was canceled we were running 75 gps and it was smooth lots of room two.it road as nice or better than a 37 outer limits I ran in before and I love ols:D PS ASK MARINTRANS AKA NOPPLER MARINE P5 RACE BOAT ABOUT THAT SUTPHEN and ENGINE BUILDER hes well known in these parts. art

WAY WAY too small for how i want to run.Remember i had a 31 (Sutphen ) back in the late 80,early 90s that ran mid 80s with tripple outboards . Great boat for its size BUT on certain days off Sandy Hook NJ that thing felt like a tinker toy.
