Sutphen has to be brought (minus power )so if i dont like the boat after its completed too bad for me.The Scarab is in Canada and i am assuming can be test driven .The same for the Apache (Miami Florida).

HI I can only ask that whatever you select please consider your invesment as if you are purchasing a sawzall at home depot. If it fits in your hand well, and it is so nimble that , you want to cut and carve all day with some extra batteries and safety goggles, not even a turkey is safe, and then you can call it a good tool. A Sut is like a swiss army knife with no attachements, so skip the nail clippers, put on your huggies and name your new ride "cry baby" Ted

REDDEATH 06-26-2007 12:25 PM

Ps what it comes down to is the Scarab can be had to for less (over 20,000.00) is compete(ready to run-today) and appears to be (pictures )in better shape ).Before i go to Canada does anyone know how to get in touch with TKOs owner?

If it is clean and ready to go, you'll get plenty of season left.
And stop calling it a Scarab... Its a Larry Smith. ;)

How's the weight of a 38LS, did you contact Larry to get any details on this one? Should be much lighter than a 41 apache.
And here's more pics of it...

Whats up rider.I have not spoken with Larry about this boat in particular but i did speak with a dealer in Calif who knows about Larry Smiths in general. You are correct in mentioning that its a Larry Smith, not a Scarab because the Larry Smiths are constructed much differently (better)then the production Wellcraft. This particular dealer i spoke with says that the 38 should be in the 9000lb range making it approx the weight of a 39 Sutphen AND a few tons less then a 41 Apache.

the older add is still listed... how odd?
I know this is the sutphen forum, but this LS scarab is as badazzed as they come.

Basically they are brokering the boat together.Earle is the actual owner ,Roberts is helping him move it.
