I find myself spending less time on here simply due to the frustration of the sloooooow crawl. Yet, I have absolutely no interest in Boatfreaks whatsoever. Nor any of the other sites.

I still enjoy all the people who are on here, but they're slowly going away as well. I used to have a feeling of being a part of OSO, but now, OSO means about as much to me as the telephone company- a faceless, charachter-less means of connection that couldn't care one bit if I slipped off the face of the Earth

I guess the best way for this to change is if all the advertisers stop- then maybe they'll make some feeble attempt at addressing the problem.

This was to Bravo:
Bravo... but Chris is too fast.
Hey there... this thread is about trashing IB.
NOT the members who have a couple bucks to spare and can suck up the membership in order to get access to the best minds and the history of offshore.

Not many can say that they have posted sooner than you, but almost all can say that they posted better.

How about using the money you saved to buy a vowel to go with those extra consonants.
The best part of a snarky jackazz popping over to stir the pot is when he confuses "were" and "where" twice in two sentences.
If you want to slam IB, go ahead. If you want to criticize the members crawl back in your hole.
Nothing beats an ignorant Indignant. Except... an arrogant, ignornant Indignant.

I found Boatfreaks to be full of people like Mike. Go figure. Thanks mike.

The bottom line is that IB is either going to invest in this problem or not. They obviously haven't invested yet. New media tech problems have fast solutions and faster workarounds. Bandwidth is cheap. Servers are cheap. Talent is plentiful. This is unexcusable.

I went from 56k to 2mbs today by spending 19.99.
Speed and connectivity can be bought. You just have to decide to cut the check.

www.cisco.com Go spend some cash Beenie.
www.monster.com Look at resumes for system admins.
www.dell.com Buy big honking servers with my money.

They don't need all that. They don't need any of that. They just need to go back several steps.

Step 1. Go back to whoever you were contracting with for servers before you bought the place.

Step 2. Let Speedgirl and Sydways and the couple others just do the moderating- and do something for them for their efforts.

Beyond that, who gives a $hit about Google ads and such. Take a page from the Mayor Dailey playbook and just make sure the trains run on time. The rest of it will seem insignificant when the folks are happy.

(Nothing like ending my week with a bunch of wasted breath. The IB crew hasn't done thing one right since they got here. They're not gonna' start now)

I don't think that an apostrophe is required at the end of "gonna." I use that word a lot.

But you are right. They aren't gonna.

OSO still sucks and you pay for this option. WOW

P/S I heard about this problem with OSO, I just had to come over again and trash it.
P/S #2 I joined Oct 2000 as Mr. B III , not many here can say that.
I am also one of the first 200, but I stayed. A message board is only as good as its members, and this site became great in part because you haven't participated. The fee is small compared to the money I saved over the years because people on this site gave selflessly to help others like me, not to mention the friends I've made here. So go back to whatever other site you belong to and continue to act like a dooche bag, we haven't missed you here one bit.

Please be patient. The site is being worked on and things will run smoothly soon. The tech department is working on it.

Why do we have so much trouble with the site? This is rediculous where I have try 3 or 4 times to get a thread to come up etc. People are starting to transfer to other sites. You need to pay attention and answer some issues on the threads soon or the main guys will leave and the OSO site will be gone.
