Do you still have those studs you bought? I think mine came with studs but it wouldn't hurt to still have them just in case. Did you get the Merlin head bolts? You will need 8. Also you need to make sure your new ARP head bolts come with those 4 slightly shorter bolts or you will need to put double washers on those 4 bolts. There is not enogh extra thread on those bolts to get them torqued right. You will have 8 extra washers in the set because the Merlin bolts don't use washers.

I am not really sure what these will make the way I am setting them up. They will be really under their potential because I am only using 800 carbs and small heads.

David thinks 800 at 6500. I don't plan on them ever getting revved that high. I am thinking more like 650 -700 at 4500-5000. More than enough to tear up my drives. I built them to cruise really strong at 3000-3500 in the boat and then if I ever get a boat that can handle more power, I can turn them up.

Guys have made from 900+ with this set up by turning them up.

jeff1000man 04-07-2007 01:16 PM

As an added note. Boat probably still won't break 79.

You have to give me more creit than that. I am at 69 now. 10k = $1000 per 1MPH = 10 more MPH = 79 mph.
