Champ of the day award goes to Big Joe Williams for falling in the water three times and jumping in any chance he got to swim and pull Tom's very small 42 ft boat to the dock. Doing all this looking like a boiled lobster from drifting for four hours.

Rcolter 05-07-2007 10:03 AM

Hell we wave at you but I guess you were to good to wave back

$hit I waved at everyone. By the end of the day I couldn't lift my arm from waving at so many people. Creedo was going so fast you probably didn't see it.:drink:

Yah, but it was pretty funny watching Joe get all red in the face and look like he was going to kill someone. Just as he was about to kill his brother a rouge wave would come by and Joe would go down. By the time we got there Joe was rationing his dip so it would last all day and Kevin was looking at Jeff thinking about becoming a canible.

spk1 05-07-2007 10:26 AM

We may have been plagued with some bad luck, but There is not a crew in the world Id rather be stranded at sea with than mine. Firstmate of the year award goes to Joe, (I dont think I have never seen anyone jump in the water and pull a 42foot boat in with his teeth  ) A very close runner up goes to Jeff,, not many people can rig a high pressure fuel line at the dock,, much less underway with both engines runnning, :drink: , not bad)
Now for the real prize, Creed,, Wade,,of WETDREAM "You can be our wingmen anytime" !

Also honorable mention goes to Ryan and his crew for standing by for just about an hour to make sure we had everyting we needed. Not to mention checking on us several time before we had anyreal trouble.

Rcolter 05-07-2007 10:34 AM

What about me? I watched, and had fuel filters! I just went the wrong way over to New Orleans

I didn't mean to forget Ryan, He too came to the rescue,, and not many people have to clout, to bring louie and his brand new fountain on his tail to aid in support, I didnt mean to forget you guys, Everytime I turned around, ryan was there checking up on us, only reason he wasnt there first is probably because we waved him off the first five time he showed up to aid.(obviosly he knew we were in trouble before we knew it) Thanks Bro,, You are our "Ambassador of Quan"

spk1 05-07-2007 10:55 AM

I would also like to thank the three guys in the bar that gave jeff the directions to the marina, And I quote,,, "We Faung Fog Fa FA De Get Da Jow Da."
Which means,,, Just keep going straight down that there road,, and you will see it. :evilb:

In LA, just down the road is a long, long ways.

Having "tethlong tape" to rig a broken fuel fitting 5 minutes before the gun goes off ------ $.95

Having enough gas to run to FL if needed. $685

Having Creed bring 4 new filters. $40

Having to pee so bad you can't keep your balance. $20 (price of one case of beer)

Driving for 45 minutes stopping at random beer joints asking drunks for directions and pulling the cops over yourself.
$5 (one pack of smokes)

Wallking 200 yards across a rock parking lot barefoot to see the 3 guys that you left on the boat strended, relaxing at Marina Del Ray having beers and burgers after you just cheated death to bring the trailer. -- Priceless

Where are Tom and George today?

Did they somehow manage to get off of work today also?

spk1 05-07-2007 11:21 AM

Either that or tom killed him, and hid the body inside a 105 storage building. :evilb:

spk1 05-07-2007 11:24 AM

Hey Wade, check out the aronow section in the classifieds that one is back up again.

Im sure you are all wondering who won the poker run? Turns out it was a local fisherman.

:evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

jeff1000man 05-07-2007 11:29 AM

I just want everyone to know that I am glad that I had a great time on my first poker run. I am also glad that we have good friends that check on our well being from time to time like Creed, Wade, Colter, Tim, Brent, Dustin, Louie and their Crew, Mike Nelson and his Crew, Kelly, Blackwood, Steve, Mark, pretty much everyone in TOPPS lake conroe, Lake travis power boat club, and the 4 drunks at the bar on the side of the road.

:drink:

I already called on it last week.

jeff1000man 05-07-2007 11:34 AM

Kevin, where is the link on the 29 we were talking about all weekend that didn't have any engines?

joew. 05-07-2007 11:38 AM

For the record I only fell in the water once Wade.:(

Thanks for the kind words Spk1 but If I had to pick a crew it would be the yellow baja. There might have been better ladies at the bars and card stops, but I wouldn't know.:(

I geuss it was better then work but it is a pretty tight race.:p

Thanks for the ride and tow Creedo and Wade:D

joew. 05-07-2007 11:46 AM

Man, I wish I didn't have to work during every poker run from now until Conroe (Islander only). I am really going to miss you guys on those runs this summer:rolleyes: You speed guys really know where it is at. Everytime I passed one of those cruisers with 15 women the only thing I could see was jealousy on there faces:rolleyes:

Yes, he jumped in the second, and the third, and the fourth......times:D

Ditto on the card stops. Thank you for taking the pictures, just reminds me of everything else that I didn't see. No offense Tom, can't control bad luck.

As for work, I should have brought Scary Mary.:evilb:

Creedo and Wade. Your tab at Steak Night Tuesday is on me. Don't drive yourselves there.:drink:

tomtbone1993 05-07-2007 12:14 PM

It was a very frustrating weekend. So much preparation went into this run it just takes all the fun out of it. I would like to start with some thankyou's from the beginning.

Kevin, Jeff, and Joe. I could not have gotten a better crew from the Navy. A lot of good stories and jokes were made on the trip down.

Joe wasted no time gittin the oil line put on Friday morning. Once we realized we had a fuel line issue. Blackwood and Ms. Stultz spent hours lookin for parts to get it going again. Then we realized the roller rockers were out of adjustment. Jeff had no problem getting them corrected.

Strip Poker and By U Boy were helping me on the phone with logistics on finding parts, all weekend.

We got the boat loaded with gas and had all the engines runnin by 11:00 PM Friday night. I new my crew was tierd. Other members were returning back from runnin on Friday afternoon with grins from ear to ear. My crew were cutin jokes and laughin about my problems. Everyone was just excited about the run on Saturday.

Saturday morning came around, you would have thought it was Christmas Morning for us. Everyone was up and ready to go at 7:00AM.

We launched and thats when we broke another fuel fitting. Jeff and Joe jumped in there and got the problem resolved as we were going down the Bayou.

We thought we had the problem corrected, only to notice after we went over half throttle we would lose all power. Creed gave us a few bottles of gas treatment, Jeff swapped out some more filters. Only for the problem to come back again.

Finally in the middle of Lake Pontrain she could not be recovered. Creed and Wade found out the news and came to our rescue. They gave us 4 new filters and drained gas out of his boat to prime mine. It was then apparent the problem was bigger than we expected. Creed and Wade did not hesitate to hook up the boat and drag us to Madisonville.

Mike Nelson picked up Jeff and took him back to my truck to bring the trailer to Madisonville 45 minutes away. Only to get it loaded and taken back to Hammond. Once we got to Hammond I got lost and felt the need to drag a 42 Fountain through all the parts of the hood.

We made it back to the hotel around 10:00 PM. None of my crew got a chance to experience Crazy Charlies or Prop Stop. For this I am truly sorry.

For those of you who I took your time away from a fun run. I am also sorry.

Tom

Jeff i am technically a part of that crew ( at least in spirit ) so bring your gold card!!!!!

I talked to Lefty this morning, they stayed an extra night in LA, i guess all the high rollers went to Le Bares for the weekend. I figured the poker run would have been enough of a sausage festival for them but i guess not......

Shake and Bake said the Lake charles run in a must!!!! Beautiful water, 350 mile round trip and dock to dock only three hours and then a fine old hotel and casino when you get there!!!

Glad everyone had a good time and made it back home safe!!

bigandy 05-07-2007 12:25 PM

tom from a guy who wasnt there's perspective there is nothing to be sorry for.... $hit happens to all of us and thats why these things are organized in big groups and everyone can be there to support everyone else and what goes around comes around and i am sure you would do the same for any of those folks if the shoe was on the other foot.

I do have question however, as Joe and Jeff started to burn in the sun, did it smell like bacon? And do you think you will be able to get the smell out, or will it always smell like Waffle House on your boat now???

joew. 05-07-2007 12:34 PM

That is right chit happens. We just had it all happen to us and at once:(

We could have fit 6 or 7 chicks in Creedo's boat if it wasn't for the 1500 coolers and other crap that my mom had piled in the boat that morning........It might have happened.:D Two good looking guys in a fountain, yeah, we had to turn them all down. Another factor was apparently I didn't have enough money for them anyway. After the third chick asked me if I was rich...I stopped trying.......bunch of heffers!
