I'd buy the one with the Allison. Wait, I did, twice. Then again, I'm partial as my business cards have Allison logos on them.

I personally like the fords. But i would wait till march of 06. Ford is releasing the all new superduty. It will have a 6.4 liter instead of the 6.0 and twin turbos.

I hadn't heard anything about that, but like I said if they do realese a new engine I would not be first in line to buy one. Give em a year or so to shake things out.

The new motor will not be out till 07 model year, and that is if it comes out then. The 06 are already being built and they still have the 6.0. Besides with the hick-ups they had with the first 6.0 I would wait a year before getting the new motor. I have had my 05 6.0 now for 3 weeks and boy what a ride, just put the 6 gun and banks exhaust on, and wow what a difference. Instantly more power, better fuel milage....Waiting on the full break in for even better milage. The new suspension is nice too, rides much better.

my 6.0L's fuel economy kept climbing till about 15k miles. I was suprised that it just kept getting better for that long.

Hi Hillbilly24 and friends,
Its called the X-Plan and per my employee rules
"The intent of the X-PLAN is to introduce our products to potential customers who are considering the purchase of competitive products....Employees are encouraged to seek out competitive vehicle owners and solicit X-PLAN purchases; however, current Ford owners are also eligible..."

I just accessed 1 more and have only 3 left so the offer is on the table...I am happy to help any of my sista's/bro's to try any Ford Products (incl Jag, Volvo, Mazda).

I am not slamming other products by any means, as there are some really tough competition out there (noted in earlier threads) and really not a bad one in the bunch...just an option at a bit of a savings if shopping the competition.

Trying to give back to my family whom has helped and entertained me since joining OSO.

I looked at all 3 originally. The Dodge was immediately taken off the list because of the ride, it was horrible. The ford had the best ride, and I thought drove the best, with no question the best brakes. The chevy had the nicest interior, was alot quieter, and had the best tranny. Plus the size was alot more manageable. The ford would have eaten up alot of garage space.

I picked the chevy. I have almost 7K on mine now, and still really like it. Like everybody said, you can't go wrong with either one, they are both very nice, and the price is basically the same. They both have injector problems also, but that's what the warrantee is for.

Gociggie31..

Are you implying your plan would be less than invoice on a Superduty?

What about special orders?

i have always had Chevy's but one of the guys i work with has a 04 2500hd and it has a very harsh ride the back seat is terrible he is looking at lifting it since it seems that with some of the good lift kits he can get a better ride, the ford superdutys have a much better ride but the front seats are not as near as nice as the chevy, i ordered a ford for the first time after driving both trucks for a week each.

2112,

Yes, and yes; ususally, the x plan pricing is very good, You also get any incentives that goes to the customer along w/ this x deal, usually it is a much better deal than you can get on the street as stated above. I have heard that sometimes retailers will sell well below dlr invoice because of factory volume incentives behind the scenes to the dlr which is different by market/regions. And FYI, the longer a vehicle stays in dlr inventory, the more it cost the store (about 300.00 per month flooring) to hang on to the unit so they are very motivated to move metal after a 45 day with no activity.

My suggestion is to go to Edmunds.com and price out the vehicle you want...they are a 3rd party and they come very close to actual dlr invoice pricing (double check on all options your comparing to) and you can then check on the dlr you want to do business with to see how honest they are wtih you.
If it was me, get the x-plan pin number from me or any FORD corporated employee and start shopping. You are not obligated (hope you do buy to help my stock) I just want to make sure Ford is on your shopping list.

If interested, just pm your last 4 ss numbers, your e-mail your name and address and within hrs i will forward you a pin number for you to flash and use at any participating Ford retailer throughout the country and hope it works for you.

No drama, and no obligation...just to put FORD on your shopping list is our goal. Some models that are new and super hot-some retailer may be reluctant to use A/Z/X plans, but right now ford has some sweet deals on end of month, holidays, end of qtrs etc. Just do your legwork and you will do well.

Any by the way, I work for the other makes that Ford purchased us several years ago, but also really like the features and benefits of Ford; like I said above...there are some great competitive brands noted above that do work well for different needs.

Good luck,
