A place to start looking is www.ilsoy.org/ form there you can link to other sites. I can tell you a little though. We use a 10% blend in all of our farm tractors and the over the road trucks. I can only fill up now from bulk storage tanks that I have. A bulk distruter in your area could blend the % you require. As far as I can tell there is no diff. using the blend. As the process becomes more refined the use of higher blends becomes more desirable. The only trouble we have now is blending in cold weather because soybean oil thickens in cold weather, below 32 degrees. It is still in its infancay. This is what little I know hope it helps.

Thanks for the replies. I post very little on OSO as I have a tremendous respect for the experts that contribute to this forum. When I bought my Cig 8 yrs ago people thought I was nuts because it had diesels and Arnesons. Now I hear diesel it the way to go. In certian applications I agree. Don Aronow and others knew this 20+ years ago. This sport will go the way of the dodo bird if fuel is $5.00 -$8.00 per gallon. I am simply looking into options. I really appreciate all the feedback.

I found a bunch of investors interested in getting a production plant up and running. No bank will touch the deal..way too risky....every-time gas has gone up in price a year or 2 later it's price would nose dive...one such nosedive and you are bankrupt.

I just bought E-85 fuel today. It is the alternative. 85% ethanol. At $1.64 a gallon, its cheap. The drawback is that it is 20% less efficent. It is a renewable resource. I plant corn and soybeans every year. It cannot be used on alot of vehicles, only certain ones. Oil prices are killing me.

That can be solved easily by setting up a hedge fund. Lock in the price the bank is comfortable with for 3-5 years and they are insured. Pretty common practice in commodity deals today.
