The reason you have to chang eyour injectors and fuel filters often isnt because of the Biodiesel. ITs because regular diesel is so dirty that crud sticks to your tank and bulds up. Biodiesel is a natural Lubricant so it wahses that crud out of your tank which then clogs yoru injectors and fuel filter. If you were to run biodiesel in a vehicle that never had regular diesel in it, you woudl not have this problem, but could but in higher pressure injectors and boost your performance. It will also extend the life ouf your engine.

You are right. If you start with crap fuel, you'll end up with crap fuel.
We run premium diesel fuel in all or farm tractors and semis and my F350. Since we switched to a 2% blend of bio diesel (btw a 5% blend nation wide would consume 1/3 of the soybeans we raise) 2 months ago, we have not changed one filter or injector. My MPG in my F350 has increased by 2. We notice better low end pull in our semis. The addition of soy oil in the diesel raises the cetane rating. The biggest thing holding bio diesel back is the oil industry not wanting to lose 2-5% of their bussines. :(

hmm, 1/3 of all soybeans. There are also other resources that can be used to make biodiesel canoloa. I read that all our waste vegetable oil after being used to make french fries, could be used to convret about 10% of diesel to biodiesel. I havnt crunched the numbers, but just hinking abotu all the mcdonalds and other places that fry food, it seems logical. Also the $0.70 biodiesel, ususally takes into account getting free waste vetgetable oil. the $0.70 is the cost of other supplies such as lye and ethanol and electricity to mix and heat it.

Yea, the .70 per gal stuff is waste oil of some sort. That most likely will give you at least filter troubles. I was talking about starting with premium diesel fuel, both on and off road.

Airship-I think that biodiesel is great. I just don't plan on using it in my truck any day soon. :drink:

The rabbit will be a great car for your kid. A bit dangerous merging into traffic, but at least you don't have to worry about speeding tickets. If you have ANY questions about the car or the engine, PM me. Chances are that I've broken it, done it and fixed it. :evilb:
