If you go to http://www.nhtsa.com/ you can look up the recall and read a copy of the letter from FoMoCo.
They say the "aleged" fires are possibly caused by a leaky pressure switch. Brake fluid leaks into the switch corroding the contacts causing high resistance ending in a possible fire.
Funny how Ford never comes right out and says the switch is at fault.

That's just full size trucks, let's not even start with the smaller trucks which FORD has basically given up on.

What's even more amazing is the fact that the Chevy trucks are at the end of their current Platform lifecycle and they are still so competitive.
but i think all of us ford and GM can take from this.... dodge sucks...

First the Ford babies complain that the GM is more expensive, as if the value for the dollar was better with Ford. You get what you pay for. Then they want to make piddly arguments about who sells more when there is a big difference in a fleet sale and a private sale. The company I work for buys thousands of "F" series a year ONLY because they are cheaper.

Hey ford buddy........ got a light.....

Quality was job one......... now job one is putting out fires

Had to sell the GM for money because you would have give the Ford away. Good decision. Keep that Ford... nobody wants it.
