Re: Class 5 Trailer Hitch

The boat weighs 10,500lbs dry, plus weight of the myco trailer, plus gas, plus gear equals alot more than 12,000 lbs (which is what the truck is rated at for the ball hitch) Is this going to be enough truck to pull our setup? Also, what would insurance do if we totaled in a wreck?

Mark's a good guy, I think he bought a boat from me once. :D

I'm just relieved you didn't speak of him as your "trailer wiring guy" :drink:

Mark's been my "everything I don't want to do vehicularly guy" for over 20 years. I'll keep all your "space" in mind when I'm looking to store next fall.

Ought to get a good price on all of that space, since you're only storing a jet ski.:evilb:

Ebay comes through, putnam 25182, $139 plus $28 shipping. :D

Re: Class 5 Trailer Hitch

cheaper than a boat, and almost as satisfying. :p

don't forget the 20K solid drawbar and 24K ball.
it's only another few dollars for some of the highest rated straight-pull accessories you can buy.

When buying a putnam on ebay, is there any way to tell it is a legit Putnam? Dont want a knock off or cheap imitation

I'd say that most of those guys have Putnam drop ship them anyway.

Ebay hitch came out of a place called Kwik Hitch in Michigan. Their website has the whole putnam line, hitches, bars, and balls. oh my.................

OK,

A little ride height theory. Assume a guy has an '06 2500HD Duramax with a shiny new Class 5 Putnam installed. Assume for the sake of argument said truck owner entertains dragging a 353 Fastech on an Eagle trailer. Truck has those sweet 16" factory rims. What should the drawbar be 2" drop, straight, etc.... someone should be able to speak to this intelligently out there
