Hey Wrinkle, did you weight your rig, what was the total? Was that dry or with gear?

I was in Purnell's new 2008 F-450 over the weekend and that is one awesome truck. It rides incredilbly well and has every option you could think of. What more could you ask for? Decent looks, great ride, good power, great towing capacity and any option you could possibly need. Obviously I was very impressed.

My new 2008 F350 King Ranch single wheel short bed will be here next week. I will post some pics. The truck is awsome and hands down better than the 06 I just sold.

I hope you guys have researched the Powerstroke 6.0 engine. Sometimes they have lots of problems. Here is a link to a forum tha covers this engine specifically. Seems there is a definite love/hate relationship with the 6.0 diesel.

Do you think it can handle the apache goose neck....or not enough weight in the truck....is the frame bigger???

crb 76, can't wait to see em'...drove an 08' 350 lariat 4x last week, but I still love my 05..no problems...can't justify trade yet. But that 6.4 is awesome...so quiet. The interior is really sharp too...post a few pics if you don't mind.

For 2008 Ford is using the new 6.4 twin turbo diesel in place of the 6.0 diesel. I do agree about the 6.o though. I know a few people that had minor problems with the 6.0 when they first came out, but my wife's Excursion has the 6.0 and we have not had any problems with it. I will tell you that her Excursion would run circles around both my old F-350 and F-450. Both of those trucks had the 7.3 diesel. For a big truck, that Excursion is quick!

If Bill's truck had the hitch I would certainly find out. I was in it again today and it is a nice rig! I am considering a new F-450 because it will legally tow the boat and can be a daily driver like my old F-450 was. My 2002 F-450 had a max gooseneck rating of 17,200 pounds. The new F-450 is rated to 24,500 pounds. Legally it will tow the boat, but there is no way that it would be as comfortable doing it as the Peterbilt is. I may be wrong, but either way that is really an unfair comparison!

If I do get one of these trucks and it tows the boat well, I could sell the Pete and use that money to do a paint job and a cabin on the Apache. That is, unless the boat sells before then. If it does I can use the money towards the new boat. If I get a new 450 and it does not pull the boat well, I could always sell it because it seems that they will be in demand for a while. We'll see. I am shopping for one though.
