When they start showing panic stops and crash-avoidance maneuvers with 11K behind a half-ton, let me know. Until then, it's all irresponsible marketing BS.

Fords web site has the F150 towing at 11,000, the F250/350 at 15,000 and the F450 at 16,000.

Is that claimed on a weight distributing hitch? What are the specifics? I hate how manufacturers bost big numbers and then say properly equipped. Jo blow doesn't read the part about properly equipped. He thinks that his factory weight carrying hitch is what they are claiming there high number on and that is never the case.

....but the Toyota can stop 10,000 lbs on a down hill sea saw. Yea right! That was responsible marketing.

It can tow it and it can stop it. I don't think it would be safe but I'm sure it can be done. None of this is responsible marketing. But if Nissan and Toyota do it why not Ford and GM? They're 1/2 tons can surely tow as much as the Japs so why not market them like the Japs do. Still doesn't make it safe.
