[QUOTE=Magic34;2194320]Trying to decide if I want to do the big truck route again. I hate the Chevy 4500s and not a fan of the F650s.
Does anyone have one of these newer ones and how do you like it? I am looking at the MB 330 HP motor.
I'll be towing a Formula 370SS that is about 22k on the trailer with full fuel.
Anyone tow that weight with a Sportchassis on here?
Thanks
im running the MB330 and love it. Does everything I want and more. Yes ride is not your limo style but good enough.
I haul a huge 49 foot living quarters 4 horse trailer so we are loaded and it never lets me down. Had the Ford450 before which was biggest crap ever made.

I do not know anything about those sport chassis trucks, but I do know enough about 10-wheeler semi tractor from my younger days to think either way would be a much better choice than a PU style towing vehicle. If I were going down that path, there a lot of guys my age that are getting out of trucking and selling their semi-tractors. My choice would be to pick up one of those that has a recent over hall and other documented repairs, cut the rear down to a single axle, put some lighter air ride on it, and run the wheels off it. Ex: I have a cousin who just sold his Peterbilt rig w/ reefer trailer, newer rebuild, new tires on tractor, polished wheels, air ride inside and out, lowered suspension for less than 50K. Trailer is worth about 18K.
