Default Z71 with 6.5 diesel

I just bought a 94 gmc Z-71 with a 6.5 diesel. I saw it on the side of the road for sale, talked price with the owner and bought it. I then looked for info on the net and found the older gm diesels had alot of problems. Anyone got any feed back. I`ll be towing my 31 sonic with it.
Thanx, Johnny

I didn't think you could buy a Z71 in anything bigger than a 1500. I think you have a 2500 4X4 with some Z71 stickers. The Z71 was just a beefier shock absorber package as I recall.

My neighbor had a 6.5 diesel, it was smokey and very loud but he drove it to work every day.

It`s actually a 1/2 ton. Thats what I like about it. I had a 2000 f250 with the straight front axle, it rode like a tractor. I like the ride of this truck and I dont pull my boat enough to warrant buying a dually. I only hope I dont have alot of problems with it. I had a 2001 Z71 with a 5.7 that a tree fell on and totaled. Pulling the sonic was more than that truck wanted to do.

In the mid 90's the diesel was an option on some half tons. I remember seeing a mid 90's two door full size blazer with the diesel too. That would be a great 4 wheelin rig.

A 29 Fountain w/twin small blocks weighs how much??
I would think that would be closer to 7500, wet & loaded on trailer.....just my thought...
