Ford v.s. Chevy 3/4 ton
buying a new truck, torn between the 2, own a 05 2500 duramax, leaning heavy on the ford F-250 this time, they just seem to be a step ahead, but thats just my opinion, what are your thoughts on this 80 year old debate? technical info needed or any other biased or un biased opinions welcome.
thanks

I have a 08 duramax and have had the powerstroke and there is no comparison, Duramax all the way ! Do your self a favor and drive both and the choice will be an easy one.

stick with GM!
Unbeatable allisson transmission and reliable and fuel efficient (big difference) Duramax. Ride is much softer in the GM than the other, 5 years / 160 000 warranty with roadside assistance included, independant suspension in the front instead of a axle mounted on coil spring... much more to say but you get the idea...!

Ford handles towing much better in my opinion. The Chevy will ride much better. The Duramax seems to be the best diesel in these trucks at this time. My 6.0 F250 was great until the motor died at 177,000 miles. I now have the 6.4 in an 08 F450, wouldn't trade it for anything but the fuel milage sucks. I get 8 mpg towing boats over 8000lbs. Now they say the 6.4 is going to be short lived. I bought the F450 because of its towing capacity, just couldn't find a GM that would tow the bigger boats without going to a Topkick.
